Founded in 1926, the New York Society of Model engineers is the nation’s oldest building and displaying of model trains for 96 years. Located in Carlstadt off of Hoboken Road, my partner, his family and I were lucky to catch the last day of the train show for the year. Inside this establishment, there are two large model train layouts that cover almost 5,000 square feet. Model trains operate on both layouts whose models are one of a kind and were handmade by Society members. The next show would be sometime in the spring.

HO & O Guage model train layout and exhibit. Open to public for viewing several times a year - usually spring and fall/winter. Great for kids and adults. REALISTIC SCENERY large model train layout with multiple trains running !!! Full lower level of a building. A MUST VISIT !!!

It is a nice place but the people who come here to work or operate trains can be really rude, one of the men that came to work on trains said something to me and it hurt my feelings, I went to the bathroom to cry I don’t recommend coming here unless you want to have your...
