Cheap campus food at Camel prices. That is the best way to describe dining here. It is a poor recreation of a campus bar on Main Street. If you still idolize Bobby Knight and live for the nostalgia of those glory days, maybe this is your place. However, if you actually want to enjoy your meal you are best served by going elsewhere.
The buffalo chicken sandwich is a simple benchmark for any restaurant priding themselves on their buffalo sauced based menu. If you can’t do this well, you have no chance of doing anything else well. And BuffaLouies fails miserably at this.
This sandwich is (generously) half of a chicken breast pounded to oblivion, coated in a tasteless breading, and then fried beyond recognition. It is served on a lackluster bun, topped with cheese that has been overheated to the point of becoming a separated, oily mess and with a slight wetting of the bun with an underwhelming, unoriginal hot "buffalo" sauce. The name branded on the bun top is the only care placed into the preparation of this sandwich.
Oh, and the curly fries. They are cooked in oil that has far exceeded the need to be replaced, filled mostly with cuts less than 1" long and charged a la carte.
If you're in the mood for this style of food, do yourself a favor and walk across the street to Muldoons. Or better yet pass this by and walk to Roma. But...
Read moreWife and I were very excited to try this on a random week night but would not go back.
Our waitress was great; I mistakenly ordered a buffalo sauce twice, so she remade my wings three times and didn’t seem bothered at all plus gave us plenty of ranch. The manager greeting us was friendly, and I assume it was the owner or GM that came and asked us how our food was.
The wings just aren’t that great. My wife loved the buffalo sauce and we both loved the ranch, but we found the wings to be small and the skin was snappy; not crispy or falling apart, but had a pull to it. They were also on the smaller side. The tenders were overcooked and the curly fries had no seasoning. Nothing was awful, but everything was average or below average besides the ranch and buffalo sauce. The sweet bbq sauce was as sweet as molasses.
The booths and associated tables do not work together, my thighs were about half an inch away from touching the table. The atmosphere is very cool though and would be fun to watch a game there. The bar is also great looking.
Overall, not our place. If a friend asked if we wanted to go, we wouldn’t say no but we would suggest another...
Read moreHey I tell you what, if you're in the mood for some quick good Eats this should be your FIRST stop. Head on down to BuffaLouie's and get you some good grub. A plethora of wing sauces to satisfy your desire as well as excellent side choices, and let's not forget about their other options are still there as well. One of the best Smash Burgers I've had. Char grilled flavor with tasty toppings (And yes of course I got both WINGS and a BURGER because why not.) Also the appetizers are definitely what ya want, fresh made Onion rings completed my meal. As far as service wise.....absolutely Stellar. KELSEY came through in every way and even went above and beyond to try and please me. Kelsey gave excellent recommendations in spite of her food restrictions. (Thank u) Finally, although the Wings were very promptly delivered, I definitely would prefer them a tad bit hotter in temperature. Nevertheless great service, good food,, Ya can't go wrong with...
