Rare to have young hostess greeter who is polite, courteous demeanor and makes eye contact with all of the party when speaking. Must have been trained well. Good start contributing significantly to 5 star rating. Most restaurants have inconsistent greeters and are inattentive. Kudos here. Hope not an anomaly.
Couldn’t sit inside due to trivia night reserved tables so was outdoors. Unexpected and a tad irritating on a sweltering hot sunny evening. But turned out ok as covered area.
Took a few minutes after being seated for server staff to arrive but thereafter no meaningful delays from a young staff. Checked on our needs sporadically but not very frequently. Nonetheless obviously trained well and polite, good eye contact again. More kudos that most restaurants fail even with higher aged staff.
Food prepared well. Regular Reuben sandwich with upgrade sweet potato fries. Self apply plentiful thousand island dressing. First Reuben I’ve had made with two layers of very thinly sliced corned beef (reminiscent of Buddig brand grocery store individual serving cut) with plenty of sauerkraut in between on marbled rye bread. Not the best Reuben sandwich but near top of the list yet satisfying. Flavor of corned beef bery mild, not salty. I order Reuben at restaurants frequently and most always severely disappointed but Muldoon’s suffices. Probably the best sweet potato fries ever had, crispy exterior, soft moist interior, flavorful, not overcooked. Another pleasant surprise as most other restaurants’ fries are forgettable.
Others had fish and chips, pork tenderloin sandwich, french dip sandwich, etc. no one had food issues. Pale ale beer on tap surprisingly tasty, smooth, light, not bitter.
All in all a pleasant experience and quality food, service.
I would revisit again and hope for...
Read moreVentured up to Muldoon’s on Main after seeing a recommendation to try the tenderloin. Overall it was just ok but not the best tenderloin by far. We went on a weekday around 1 and it was pretty empty. Street parking was easy to find than I thought it would be. We ordered the fried cheese as an app. I ordered the mini tenderloin and sweet potato fries while my bf got the regular tenderloin and onion rings.
The fried cheese was probably my favorite part of the meal but I didn’t care for the mayo/dijon dip it came with, would have preferred a ranch or choice of different aioli’s. Unfortunately our meals came out as I took the first bite of our app which really kinda ruins an app in my opinion. It is a large app, I’d say perfect for four people but too much for just two people. The mini tenderloin seemed pretty much that same size as my bf’s regular but his came with a sesame bun. Usually when I get a mini or small tenderloin at restaurants it is usually bun size but a little thicker but this on still was quite large with at least half hanging over. The tenderloin itself was juicy but the breading was a little salty for my preference. Sweet potato fries were good but a little under cooked, also wished they offered some type of dip for them like a Carmel or marshmallow fluff. The breading between the fried cheese, tenderloins, and onion rings all seemed very similar and the saltiness over powered some of the other flavors. Service was lacking, even though they weren’t busy. The waitress did check on us once during the meal but didn’t offer to refill our empty drinks at all. I think the pricing was off too. I mean I guess I should expect it from a Carmel location but 70 something after tip still seems high for some fried food at an Irish...
Read moreThe service was outstanding! We have special needs children, so they can be a little on the obnoxious side for some people. Our server did not mind at all, and was very interactive with them. Being new to the area, it was our first time there. So, we got a good variety of food. Almost all of it was great. All the meats tasted like it came from Joe's, which is almost next door and our favorite butcher we have found. We asked if it was their meat. He said he thinks so, but wasn't sure. I'm betting it is. So good. Anyway... the Irish pizza was awesome! Nachos that taste like pizza, and so much of it. The fried cheese was amazing as well. Then we also had the BLT, Ruben, fish and chips, double burger, and the cottage pie. The cottage pie is the one that could use some help. Not bad, but could definitely be made a whole lot better. The fish when we broke it open (crunch😊) was beautifully flaky. Obviously a perfect fry. The first were yummy and crunchy. I like the extra breading they put on there. The burger was so big my son had to take a patty off to fit it in his mouth. 🤣 I have never seen him do that before. The BLT had lots of bacon on it. Did not skimp there. The Ruben is real. If you have someone who loves that sandwich, you know there are a lot of knockoffs out there. Oh and my husband had a beer with the cutest clover on the top. ☘ My son wanted me to send a picture of it to his teacher. Did not do that, in case you were wondering. 🤣 We will be back at some point to try more of their foods! I can't seem to figure out how to add the...
