We were anxiously awaiting the opening of Thai Nine in Carmel. This evening we got to experience a cozy, nicely decorated (check out the back lit elephant and 9 art prominently displayed) dine in or carry out restaurant playing nice jazz music. Usually my wife and I order carry out but since this was our first visit we decided to stay. Everything about Thai Nine exceeded our expectations from the decor to the beautiful menu. The staff were all very friendly including the owner's daughter Cha who answered our multiple questions about the wall mosaic featuring the former president of Thailand and the before mentioned Thai Nine symbol. We started off with fried tofu which was crispy and delicate, a wonderful start to the meal. Next was chicken pad thai medium and hot (for me) along with panang chicken which we really enjoyed. These were perfectly spiced and large portions which allowed us to bring home left overs for another full meal. The expertly carved butterfly out of carrots added a nice whimsical touch to the plate. We can't wait to come back and try the other menu items. Jeff & Sue

I did not really want to ruin the restaurants name, but I have to share my experience. Last week I tried spicy basil chicken fried rice and red chicken curry. It was tasty and delicious. So today I tried calling the restaurant five times, no answer so not waste time I placed order online and it automatically took 10% off the total. I received a email confirmation with the total of $16.48 and when I went to pick up the food, the email confirmation receipt amount was different from the lady at the front charged me. It was $16.48 originally, at the restaurant she charged me $19.06(for one on tray with fried rice) when I asked she tried to change it to $17.16 and then asked again she tried to pay me the difference from the very first original email receipt. She then started to explain some kind of glitch. Anyways food is great but this restaurant lost my trust, there’s no reason for them to charge me $19.06 for one on tray with 8oz fried rice and didn’t even tried to correct it until asked. Watch out what you are paying…..

Came to this new restaurant for lunch today and was really impressed by how tasty this place was. I saw that they had just opened and was excited to give it a try. The first thing that stood out was the interior. There was a huge mural on the wall with lovely chandeliers. Very modern, chick, and well lit. We ordered the Red Curry and Pad Key Mao. The curry tasted really fresh and fragrant. I ordered the medium spice level, but even that was a bit spicy for me. The Pad Key Mao was also excellent! I really like the extra char that they put on the noodles. The lunch specials come with a side of egg roll and a soup or salad. The lunch special is probably the best deal in the area, but the food is worth it anytime of day.

The food is good but the staff are rude. I ordered for pickup, got to the restaurant and my food was ready and pre-paid. Should have been a quick in and out. Instead I stood at the host podium waiting as minutes rolled by while a wait staff person was literally right behind the podium punching keys on the register. Not once did he look up or even acknowledge me though I was literally 2 feet away from him. He then finished at the register and walked away wordlessly. I had noticed a woman back at the bar area jump on the phone as I had walked in and I knew she saw me. Eventually, some time after the first staff person walked away she asked from a distance if I had been helped to which I relied “no”. She then walked up to me and I told her I had placed a grub hub order. She said ok it’s ready and went over back to the bar and gestured to a bag of food. I looked at her expectantly, thinking she would be bringing it to me and instead she gestured again and said “it’s there”. Mind you, there is a clearly labeled grub hub order pickup spot at the FRONT of the restaurant. Yet I had to walk to the back to get my food because she didn’t have the courtesy to bring it up to me. Terrible customer service. I wish I hadn’t left a tip. This was enough to make me not eat there again. There are too many other Thai options in this city to give my business to the rude one. I ordered $50 worth of food and I’m sure it will taste good (if it doesn’t I’m coming back to make this 1 star). But the service ruined it...

My husband and I used to love this place so much. We are from the state near by and usually stop there for dinner whenever we get a chance for the pass few years. Last night we went there again along with my mother. As a Thai person living in the US, I understand that not all Thai restaurants serve authentic foods. However, this place used to be better on both foods and service. First of the rice we got was really hard. I have no idea if it was over cooked or they used old rice. All foods were extremely sweet like dessert. Even my favorite steamed dumpling wraps were dried and the inside were very salty.

There were 2 female servers. The one who took our order was kind and polite. But another server had attitude the whole time and was pretty rude. She spoken Thai to us with unpleasant tone the whole time. Since the foods were very sweet, my mom asked for some fish sauce with chilli and that server was not happy about that. I barely touch my food but I asked for some containers to bring those food home so I can adjust the taste myself. I told the polite server that I do not want to take those rice home but she left the boxes anyway. A moment later when the rude server came clear the table I told her I do not need those extra boxes and she was pretty upset about it. I have no idea what made her so rude like she didn't want to be there. We ended up tips over 25% anyway because we think it not fair to the nice server. We will not going back there anymore. We really dissappointed...

While their website boasts that we would be greeted by warm and gracious Thai hospitality, our waitress had zero personality, she was very cold, monotone and just plain rude from the start.

We asked if they would remake our entrees with spice. The waitress came back a few minutes later and placed our entrees back in front of us, no words spoken, and walked away. Instead of actually remaking our entrees, they put some spice over the top and sent the same food back to our table. Just wow.. lol. when we mentioned this to our waitress, she stated that it was our fault for not telling her what level of spice we wanted added. We argued that we've never been to a Thai restaurant where we had to specify that we simply wanted spices in our food?? lol but okay, we'll agree to disagree on this point.w

We asked if they would kindly remake our entrees with spice added, still in disbelief that we actually had to ask for this. The waitress came back a few minutes later and placed our entrees back in front of us, no words spoken, and walked away.. simply the rudest service I've ever experienced. As we suspected since they came back out so quickly, instead of properly remaking our entrees, they literally just put some spice over the top and sent the same food back to our table. Just wow.

First and last time, we will...
