I came to Olive Garden Jan 11th in Carmel and was greeted by a tall young black man with a lot of body piercing . He asked me what I wanted to drink . I replied “ nothing .” He then said “ you don’t want any food either ?” I took that as a dry joke but he did not smile . I ordered the lunch special w Minestrone soup and salad all you can eat . “No peppers or croutons on the salad” . I was soon presented with a salad with croutons and one bowl of soup . The man said “ this is our last bowl of soup .” I typically eat several bowls 5-6 . He said , “there is plenty of salad “. Well, I can get a tub of salad at Walmart if that’s all I wanted . The mentioned that the Salad had croutons . He replied “ you said no bread sticks .” I said I’m sorry if I said that “ but noticed that he gave me breadsticks so why did he do that if I said “no breadsticks . “Anyway I got up to leave as there was no more soup .On the way by the manager I said to her that I would go with the special if she would substitute spaghetti marinara all you can eat . I’m sure that spaghetti and tomato sauce costs the store no more than the soup , probably less . She replied , we cannot do that , well , we will do that but just give you one refill . I said “ ok.” I sat down and ate the one bowl of soup and the young waiter brought another salad with only a few croutons ( I think they just picked the other ones out ) and abruptly slammed it down on the table . Not real hard but hard enough for me to know that he was not happy . Then the spaghetti was brought . The portion was in a VERY tiny soup bowl . I have eaten spaghetti marinara many times in Olive Garden before so realized what was going on here . It was maybe 1/3 the normal portion if that . I thought really ?
I ate the bowl of salad , and the tiny bowl of spaghetti and a couple of bread sticks . It was not busy at 2:00 pm but my waiter ceased to come back to my table . He walked by several times and was doing something up at the bar . There were no people at the bar . I left $5.00 on the table and walked out never to return again. Olive Garden is slipping very badly in more...
Read moreI wish I could give 0 stars. My husband and I went to this Olive Garden for dinner and had the worst experience. Overall the food was great and we love the menu at Olive Garden, however whoever is the manager of this location needs to seriously consider who is working at this location. Upon arrival my husband and I were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait so we waited in our cars, 35 minutes passed by so we went and checked, the hostess still said it would be another 20 minutes, overall we waited well over an hour but stayed because at this point we were just starving and had sunken too much time into it. Honestly not upset about this though as I understand it was busy. We then are seated though and nobody ever came to us for at least 10 minutes. At this point we were starting to get frustrated because we were both really hungry, she finally comes to us and gets our drinks and a salad which was great. My biggest complaint however was that while we were eating our waitress and the bartender (she was the one with curly hair) were talking SO LOUDLY about how awful the manager is to them and how they work such long hours and are exhausted and wish the manager would do their job better and blah blah blah. We were just so frustrated because we literally couldn’t even have a conversation Because of how loud the bartender was talking. It’s just so unprofessional and frustrating as a customer to have to deal with this while you are trying to enjoy dinner. Whoever the manager is I honestly feel bad for you that you have to deal with such a unprofessional and sloppy staff, my recommendation would be to fire both of them. Let me know when they are both gone and we will gladly return to...
Read moreHad some terrible service at this location Monday night. Host originally told our party of only 3 that it was a 30min wait. He did not offer seating at the bar, so I asked about it. We're all over 21 and there were a few empty tables back there. The empty tables were all dirty at the time, so we were asked to stand by the host stand and just keep an eye on it ourselves for when a table was cleaned off. Our waitress only refilled our beverages once. No wine samples. For the salad and our pastas, she did not ask how much cheese we wanted. Just put a little on and then placed on the table. Hardly any cheese! And it's supposed to be unlimited salad and breadsticks. This did NOT happen. In fact, the 3 of us received a total of FOUR breadsticks. Only four! The waitress said she was going to bring us more and that never happened. My husband and friend both got the buy one/take one deal. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs for his take home option, but he got cheese ravioli by mistake! We didn't realize this until a few days later because it was bagged and placed in the fridge. We weren't asked if we wanted desserts. I had to specifically ask for a to-go box even though half of my plate was untouched. And we didn't receive any Andes mints. All the trademarks of Olive Garden were totally skipped over! We were not happy with this service. It was not very busy as it was a Monday night. Not sure what the problem was with the staff. I don't think we will be going back to this...
