The Den by FoxGardin — Restaurant in Carmel

My favorite restaurant inside of Sun King Carmel by far. I miss their mussels something fierce, but I've found in the past that their smashburger really satisfies. This time, however, it was not a smashburger. The patties were definitely not smashed, did not have the signature crispy edges of a smashburger, and both were even still pink in the middle. If you want to see how a smashburger is done right, go to Sun King Fishers and look what One Trick Pony is doing. Still, I'm going to keep coming back and will definitely order another "smashburger" because...

I would leave 0 if possible. I ordered 2 burgers and received patty (undercooked) in toast bread with no vegetables in it. When I returned tray with uneaten "burger", I checked why are they making it without buns. Worker was rude and just told that they ran out of buns... Service was nice and prompt but the food was dry and bland. I got the brisket beef Italian sandwich and the meat was dry as bone. Terrible! And very little Giardiniera on it to boot.
