Everything Home — Local services in Carmel

I was in awe of all these wonderful reviews, hence my reason for going into Everything Home. I am, however mystified as to how this company received these accolades based on my recent experience. It’s important to say that I did not contract this company nor did I work with any of the designers on a project. My initial experience was so poor I wouldn’t even entertain hiring this company. I went into their location in the Carmel Design Center and was immediately greeted by a woman who was one of the most obnoxious people I have ever met. I explained that I was interested in design services and wanted information. The woman started to fill out a form and began asking questions, and things went downhill from there. I could not even finish a sentence before this woman would interrupt me and talk nonsense about non pertinent things. When I mentioned some of my thoughts about furniture I might like to invest in, she proceeded to tell me I didn’t need that type of furniture. She tried to sell me floor models in color ways that I had no interest in, and then explained I could put my existing (very nice furniture) in the basement. Overall she constantly interrupted me and seemed to have no interest in what I might need or like. The icing on the cake was when she brought up politics in the Indianapolis area (and YES, she brought it up) and then told me who I needed to vote for in the upcoming mayoral race. I finally had to almost scream at her that I was not there to discuss politics with her. She continued with the verbal diarrhea until I was ready to just run out of the store. I never spoke to a designer. Overall the experience was like going somewhere and having a barking, snapping, rude chihuahua at your heels. I’ve had lots of experience working with designers over the years, but this place isn’t for me. I can’t imagine what it would be like working with someone like that over a multi-months project. I cannot say enough how wonderful our experience was working with Everything Home from beginning to end. Everyone who we met and worked with was engaging, professional, and highly skilled. Right from the design phase, they listened closely to what we wanted and worked with us to come up with a plan that fit our family, our ideas, and our budget. They were so easy to get in touch with and were very patient with us throughout the whole project. They kept the renovation area shocking tidy as they worked and everyone involved in the project was very friendly and polite. The finished project (which was actually completed ahead of schedule) ended up looking better than we could have ever hoped for, and their attention to detail and follow up even after the project was done has been incredible. We never for a second had doubts or concerns throughout our experience, and having completed renovations with other teams in the past we know how rare that is and what a testament to this team it is. We truly felt heard and cared for on a personal level. If you're looking for any design or home improvement projects, our family truly cannot recommend them enough. We will absolutely be using them again for any of our home renovation projects...

I can't say enough good things about Everything Home. I first contacted them from California in a panic because we were moving to Indiana, and I realized we really had no appropriate furniture for our new home. I had the good fortune of connecting with Ellen, one of the designers, who told me not to worry and that they would help. She presented us with a very thorough design plan which allowed us to visualize everything even though we were in California and the house was in Indiana. Ellen was excellent in moving my husband and I along when we got stuck in analysis paralysis. She took into account our budget, design style, delivery times, supply chain issues, etc. and made sure that we had furniture within the first week or so of moving in. We have had additional furniture deliveries, fantastic wallpaper installed in our dining room, and a beautiful kitchenette built in our basement. Adrienne was the project manager for all the construction and was very thorough in communicating schedule and progress on the project.
