Visited on November 6 approximately 6:30, greeted and was seated quickly, a table for Two.
The waitress was there to take our drink order. I decided to have a coke and my boyfriend ordered a root beer. When the drinks came out we ordered our meals.
Food was delivered to our table everything looked great and tasted amazing! It was when we were eating that things seemed odd! The waitress came and refilled my coke when my glass was half full, my boyfriend's root beer was half full as well, and not once did she ask to refill his! He finished his drink and as she came back again to fill mine, she ignored his empty glass, even though it was pushed to the edge of the table. Now if you have ever waitressed before, you clearly know that if an empty glass is sitting at the edge of a table it's a sign that the customer wants a refill!!
Each time she came for my refill, he was ignored, all conversation was directed towards me.
As I sat there, I was disappointed and wondered why she never gave any eye contact or conversation towards him.
By now, he had finished his meal and did not need anything to drink, but still no refill or any acknowledgement that his glass stayed empty.
We're the coke refills free and root beer wasn't???
There is no logical explanation as to why I was given multiple refills and he was ignored the entire meal, I hope the logical explanation for this had nothing to do with...
Read moreWe planned to celebrate my birthday (8/9) by dining at Woody’s and called on Wednesday before to make a reservation for six. At first we chose the patio, but called back a couple hours later and asked for a table upstairs in the library (if goal of birthday for retired librarian, you want the ambiance of the library). Each time we stated we needed a table for six at 6:30 pm. and were assured all was arranged. But when we arrived, we were told that the reservation was for four only and that they were unable to seat us upstairs. The server offered to check availability to seat us in the bar/patio. The bar had a table, but is in all sense and purpose a sports bar with several huge televisions, not the vibe we wanted at all. So in the end, we were seated outside “the library” on the patio being blown by fans due to the heat of the evening. The food was good, our server who was very nice and attentive, had been told of the mix-up, apologized to my husband and he told him that he’d comp’d us the appetizer on our bill at the end of our meal. The six of us, including a very special guest, enjoyed our meals and company, but I haven’t been able to shake the disappointment I felt from start to finish of not being able to celebrate upstairs in the library as planned. We said after, all of this could have been avoided if Woody’s provided a text confirmation of reservations. Photo included of Peach...
Read moreI love that this is actually in an old, retired library! There are two levels to this establishment. The bottom level is a big, open-room bar atmosphere dedicated to the Colts. High top tables and very much a community feel. The upper level is quieter and a more intimate dining area. The decor and dividers in the dining area are old library shelves with books. We came in on the side entrance and you have to choose to go down stairs to the bar area or up stairs to the dining area. I’m not sure if the old main library entrance on the front of the building is open and whether stairs can be avoided there. If someone needs assistance or can’t do stairs this might not be the restaurant for them. I would suggest calling.
Very attentive service, yet I didn’t feel as though we were being pushed out quickly and actually sat chatting after the meal for awhile. But we arrived at one and by the time we were done eating there were plenty of empty tables. A very relaxing lunch for sure.
I had a steak and my husband had the special, a “Cheeseburger” soup and shared my sides. He was delighted with the soup. Definitely made in house and not an open the tin situation. Our friends enjoyed the sliders and a grilled salmon on a bed of salad. Because of some of the ingredients in the salmon dish and his food allergies, changes had to be made and those were...
