Blake's Pizzeria & Ice Cream — Restaurant in Carnation

Love this place. It still has that old school charm that you only get from a community full of love. Service is a little slow, but most of us don't mind because that's kind of the point. And the wait is 100% worth it.

After frequenting multiple times over the last two years and trying as many of the options from the menu as we can, I am willing to say confidently from grinders to homestyle pies, nothing misses here. But I will warn you they are HOMESTYLE pies. So the crust is soft and bready and I suspect similar to the grinder bread. They are somewhat lighter fare. They're not exactly the same as greasy, yeasty poofed traditional American pizzas like what you get from Red Pepper down the road. So be warned, they are good in their own way, but may not be what you're expecting as far as pizza goes.

However we don't mind this and for what they're worth they are delicious in their own way.

Service is.. Interesting, they do have a lot of younger and teenaged age people working there. So I think they can be a little standoffish at first, as teenagers are, but if you get to know them I suspect they're nice kids. The older adults who we see from time to time seem really nice...

I love the expensive food. Really. I come here because I love the entire menu. BUT. Here are the many buts…. The staff are openly, openly hostile towards me. Wow! I’m not a weirdo; just a hungry Carnationite. Today’s latest hostility was the final straw and I’m writing a review. Ordered in and they normally bring it to your table. It was bagged up and tossed on the counter with a notice that it “was ready.” Again, open hostility. Slow, slow, slow service. The physical restaurant is dated, worn out, dirty, broken lights with dead bugs, thrown together interior design. The ceiling tiles are gross. Their storage room is in the dining room. Blake's Pizzeria: Great Food, Lackluster Service While Blake's Pizzeria may not be the most welcoming spot in town, their food certainly makes up for it. The pizzas here are consistently delicious, with a perfectly crispy crust, flavorful sauce, and generous toppings. Whether you're a meat lover or a vegetarian, there's something for everyone on their menu. Unfortunately, the service can be a bit hit or miss. Sometimes you'll be greeted with a warm smile and friendly banter, while other times you might feel like you're an inconvenience. The atmosphere is also quite basic, lacking any real ambiance. Despite these shortcomings, I'd still recommend giving Blake's Pizzeria a try for their delicious food. Just don't expect a five-star...
