When we first went into the restaurant, they didn’t have much pizza available and told us they were making them, and it would be a 10 minute wait. We were fine with that and went into a nearby store and came back in about 15 minutes. The pizzas still were not done. The four children with us were ready to eat at this point. The other people in our group ordered cheese pizza for themselves and their kids, since it was about to come out of the oven. My husband and I opted for slices of pizza THAT WERE ALREADY READY AND IN THE DISPLAY CASE, since our toddler was very hungry and getting fussy. We should have been given our pizza slices right away, since they were ready and in the display case, but that is not what happened. Shortly after we all sat down, the cheese slices were brought out to the other people in our party. I asked the server when our three slices would be brought out and she said “give me a minute” with an attitude. TEN minutes passed, and she still had not brought out our pizzas, which were just sitting there in the display case. My poor toddler had to sit there and watch all the other kids at their table eat their pizza, while he sat there hungry. I went back up to the checkout and asked her again when we will get our pizzas, and I reminded her that we ordered pizzas that were already ready so that we could have them right away. She got a major attitude with me and told me I needed to give her a few more minutes. BY THE TIME WE RECEIVED OUR PIZZAS, THE OTHER PEOPLE IN OUR GROUP WERE COMPLETELY FINISHED WITH THEIRS. This kind of service is completely unacceptable to me. And the server’s attitude was even more unacceptable. If there had been a valid reason for the delay (which there wasn’t, since the pizza was already ready), and she explained and apologized for the delay, then that would be different. But she was incompetent and careless, and didn’t do her job, and then had a poor attitude about it. We came here every year when this was Frank’s Pizza, but we will never...
Read moreThose of you who do not know, Fentoni's used to be Frank's pizza. Seriously some of the best pizza I've ever had. It has, as of recently, been sold to another party and named Fentoni's. As a frequent customer of Franks I had high hopes for the new ownership. I have been let down. The, I'm guessing, manager of the new place (younger guy taking orders at register) has been extremely unprossional to me both times I have visited now. Speaking ill of customers, speaking ill of the previous owner, being short with me. A very strong turn off. This is the main reason for the bad review. This guy is doing nothing good for this new business. The service aside, the pizza is alright. I always get by-the-slice as I am eating for lunch on the beach. You used to be able to choose any toppings you want. Pizza was always fresh with Franks. Fentoni's by-the-slice is either cheese or pepperoni. No other toppings. I cant speak to the whole pies you can order, but the by-the-slice is lacking. Now the "manager" has told me they are doing away with by-the-slice. Only whole pies, to-go...please don't do that. That is the beauty of having a boardwalk location, so people can walk by and grab a slice. I would strongly suggest to the owner to get a new manager/server and bring out the optional toppings. I hope things change, i love pizza on the beach. I...
Read moreHere is what to expect for dine in at Fentoni's pizza. They may or may not be open during posted business hours, you have to show up to find out if open or not. The restrooms for the dine in patrons is locked with a key coded numerical keypad that is a closely guarded secret, so sacred that an employee will be required to punch it in for you, lest you let all your friends into the pizza parlor bathrooms. Paying cash? Nothing over a $10 bill will be accepted, and in all cases no change will be given as all cash sales are rounded up in their favor due to (according to Fentoni's), the big national money shortage. How was the pizza? Have no idea, we only had a $50 bill to pay with and they refused to make the $10 in change our pizza purchase would have required. Did glance at a table on the way out, it appeared ny style with plenty of orange grease. Can't recommend this place unfortunately.
*Edit to my review, as the owner has replied:
Also expect the owner of this pizza parlor to show his true feelings about his customers if you mention their policies publicly. He clearly despises those whom he is tasked with serving. Good luck pal, your rage...
