My friend and I got off the beach and walked into the restaurant for a quick lunch. When we walked in there was no one at the host stand and a bartender/waitress told us to take a seat anywhere and she would be right with us. A five top walked in after us and she walked them to their table and got their drinks then when she came to us she asked if we wanted to start with waters, we declined and asked for dr pepper to which she very rudely responded “I don’t have that” in a annoyed, condescending tone. Okay no dr. pepper that’s completely fine we’ll just have cokes. When we looked at the menu online we saw they offer burgers which is why we chose this restaurant however we came to find out they did not have them on the menu today. I asked what came on the tuna nachos and she obviously had no idea other than tuna and some peppers, when I received my nachos they had beets on them which I don’t like but happily picked them off. My friend ordered the kids chicken tinders since burgers weren’t an option and was greeted with an attitude from our server about it. It took forever to get the bill because our server was standing at the bar talking to another employee rather than taking care of her tables. When we asked for separate checks she rolled her eyes as she walked away. My friend and I are both servers so we understand people have bad days and we always tip well over %20 but as people who work in the industry we were baffled by her treatment. Don’t waste your money here just to be treated...

I haven't had tuna nachos since I moved from Florida 4 years ago and I have been suddenly craving them like crazy. After googling different restaurants and reading reviews, we decided to give this place a try and we were so glad we did! The staff was very friendly and service was good! My boyfriend got a burger and it was cooked perfectly medium rare and tasted like good quality. The fries were fresh and delicious as well. I ordered the tuna nachos and they were SO good. The toppings were evenly distributed like another review said, the ingredients were fresh, and the sauces and toppings were delicious! We learned that they do a pre fix menu every Sunday, so we will be planning to come back for my birthday dinner to try that out! It is a super cute little place with great service and fantastic food! I don't normally leave reviews unless I feel like it's worth expressing! You do want to keep in mind that it's near the beach, so during season (starting march1st) you will have to pay for parking. Very much worth it and then you can enjoy the beach while...

Ordered some food at the bar at 4pm on Saturday. A big crowd had just left so I was the only one at the bar until one of the bartenders friends came in. I sat and ate quietly while the bartender poured numerous shots for her friend (two seats away from me). Never acknowledged me, or asked how my food was or even made eye contact. Her appearance was trashy for a place I thought might be a little more upscale. When I left the manager, host and a couple of servers were huddled around the stand. Not one of them said good bye, thank you, have a good night. I was not expecting five star service but a simple acknowledgement and I would have left saying ok, well the food is good but service needs some work. I would suggest some customer service skills training and perhaps suggest a modest dress code for a bartender (not a cut off ripped top and denim shorts), especially on a Sat evening. It’s too bad that the excellent job of the kitchen was overshadowed by the air of apathy from the front of...

We picked the Sandspur because we had never been here, and the reviews were good. Immediate regret. $9 just to park, then we walked into a warm barely air-conditioned dive bar atmosphere. Outside seating had little shade and a view of shipping containers, so we stayed inside. I figured there would at least be some great, reasonably priced bar food. Hole in the wall places around here usually do. I was wrong. The menu is tiny, and most of it says "NC fish," so it depends on the day which kind of fish is on their sandwich, salad, tacos, or nachos. In an attempt to make the food worth the price, they put radish and "remulode" on things. Their website menu prices are not current. Nor are the pictures. It seems like this was a nice place but has gone downhill. It's probably a good place to drink, but it's a bad place to eat. Service was okay. Food was okay but nowhere near what I'd expect at those prices.

Enjoyed this just opened restaurant in CB. The building is a old house converted to a dining area and large size bar area with a beautiful outdoor space. Outdoors included picnic tables, chaise lounges and a place for a future bar. The wait staff was excellent providing specials and details on dishes. She was very attentive and friendly. . The yellowfin tuna sandwich was cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. . The salsa with chips was bright, citrusy and perfectly flavored with cilantro. It was a large portion as well. The special was a tuna salad wrap with yellowfin and blackfin tuna used. It was large and bursting with flavor. This is a must visit after the beach for drinks and/or food. We will be visiting often 😊

We are so excited The Sandspur has come to the Island! What a great spot. The menu is carefully curated with delicious and healthy options—all full of flavor. They offer locally caught seafood options that change with the season and availability. The portion sizing is just right except that those tacos were so delicious, we wished there were more! The ambiance is casual and fun (indoor and outdoor seating available), and everyone on staff seems to be excited about what they’re building at The Sandspur, which is infectious. Louis (Louie?), in particular, brought such an awesome vibe to our experience with his stellar recommendations, apt attention to service and overall happy energy. Would highly recommend!
