What a surprise! Pimentón is located in a gas station; something you usually relate with cheap, quick food such as frituras or fast food joints. This place however surprises you right away with a great look inside, nice ambiance and very friendly and attentive staff.
For starters, parking is a bit of a challenge because Pimentón is very popular. They offer valet parking to help with that but I did not use the service to be able to judge it.
Though we had to wait to get seated, the wait was very much worth the wait. You can wait inside the gas station side which has a coffee bar and can start your experience by buying any of the varied selection of craft beer that the gas station has available.
Once seated in the restaurant section, our time there just kept getting better. We sat at the bar and had a clear view of the kitchen and the staff preparing the food. Our server was great. He explained the menu thoroughly and made a couple of suggestions.
We struck conversations with a couple of "locals" that sponsor the restaurant several times a week and they also made recommendations. There were too many options and we had a hard time deciding because everything sounded so good!
In the end we chose one of the pizzas and one of the dishes. I'll sum it up with one word...FANTASTIC!!! You can't go wrong with the pizzas 🍕🍕🍕which are made in an open oven that takes just a minute or two to be done. The crust is so good and the combination of non-traditional ingredients will surprise you.
Our dish was a chicken breast covered with cheese over pasta and a majado (mashed) that has to be tried if available.
The price was very fair especially considering how good the food is.
In summary, this is an absolute recommend. We are already looking forward to going again and even trying their brunch on the 1st Sunday...
Read moreWe have been here a few times and have always loved it. Best pizza on the island for us. The last 2 times the food and service was lacking.
Todays visit was the absolute worst. Waitress took our order, gave us water and then completely disappeared. 2 different waiters brought us our app and pizza. No one came to us to ask if we needed anything else or how our food was etc . Our pizza came out at room temperature, stretched extremely thin that the cheese was hard as a rock in some places. Everyone kept passing by and not one person asked if we were ok or needed anything else. We finished what we could eat and not one person came to give us a check. We had to ask a random worker for the check. Eyes were being thrown at each worker by one another and finally someone brought us the check. When we were asked how much tip we wanted to leave and we just sat there staring at them “like really”she proceeded to say I know sorry… we only then, were explained to that they were sorry but our waitress wasn’t feeling well. I then said someone should have come and told us what was going on and assigned our table to someone else. That waitress said she was sorry and that was that. Extremely disappointed...
