Myself and my Mom have been coming here at least once or twice a month for the last few years and that is sadly no longer going to happen anytime soon.
I have to first start by saying that I was not a big fan of the remodel that took place. I miss having our own personal booth to sit in rather then the half booths they now have. I don't like the feeling of sitting directly next to complete strangers while I'm eating and that was before this pademic even started.
WARNING DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU ARE CONSIDERED HIGH RISK or MEDICALLY VULNERABLE!!! Myself and my Mom have eaten here 3 times since they reopened the dining area. This place does not seem to be following the most basic of procautions when it comes to people getting this coronavirus.
coffee cups, silverware, creamers, and jelly are left sitting out on every table.
We were seated at a table that clearly had not been cleaned properly I saw crumbs, a ring where a coffee cup was sitting, and a few globs of jelly (I regret not taking a picture to show I'm not exaggerating). We ended up sliding over to the next table
The first time we went very few people working there were wearing masks. Now most of them do but all to often it sits at there neck which is useless. I saw the manager himself come through not wearing one at all. I hate to know how often they change gloves.
We saw a lady quickly and poorly wipe down a few different tables with what looked like nothing more but a wet rag and used the same rag for all of the tables
We did not feel comfortable here. My Mom is considered very high risk and we saw a lot of older individuals eating here. This place is an outbreak waiting to happen.
It looked like the place was very understaffed. The service was a lot slower then usual despite the place having a third to half the customers they usually have. The food I got was cold. I noticed a couple more favorable servers I used to see on a regular bases have vanished.
This is really sad to see since I really like the food here. I've tried all the benedicts at some point and they are all good. There is a good selection of healthier options. The portion sizes are just right for me. I really hope this place makes it through but some adjustments...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to try this place for the first time, especially since it was my birthday, and he knows how much I love breakfast. When we arrived, we were told there would be a 10-minute wait, which was fine with us, but we were pleasantly surprised to be seated within 5min or less.Since it was a beautiful morning, we asked to sit outside.
About 5 minutes later, another couple was seated next to us. Both of us waited for someone to take our order, but no one came. The lady from the other table eventually went inside to let the staff know that no one had come outside yet. The manager came out and only asked for our drink orders. We ordered one mimosa and one orange juice.
Then, the waitress came to the table next to us to take their order. The lady kindly suggested that she take ours too, since we had been waiting for a while. The waitress responded, “That’s not my table.” The lady insisted, saying we had been waiting longer, but the waitress still didn’t take our order.
Eventually, the waitress came over and asked if we had been helped. I told her the manager had taken our drink order 15 minutes ago, but we hadn’t received anything. She apologized and went to check on our drinks. Our waiter finally brought the mimosa, but only one drink, even though the orange juice wasn’t freshly squeezed and could have been brought at the same time.
It was now 10:20, and we still hadn’t placed our food order. By 10:30, my drink finally arrived, and we placed our order. We waited another 15 minutes before we got our food at 10:45, and that was only after I went inside to complain.
Throughout this entire experience, neither the manager nor the waiter apologized. It was incredibly disappointing. We had a bad experience, and we will not...
Read moreAwake in Carrollton has quickly become one of my favorite spots for breakfast, and after my recent visit, it’s easy to see why this place is gaining a loyal following. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure my dining experience was nothing short of excellent.
One of the highlights of my visit was the staff’s willingness to customize my meal to suit my preferences. As someone who doesn’t eat bacon, I was thrilled when they happily substituted chicken in my dish without any hesitation. This level of attentiveness and flexibility is something you don’t always find, and it made my breakfast all the more enjoyable.
Speaking of food, the orange mimosa was absolutely divine. It was refreshing, with just the right balance of citrusy sweetness and bubbles. It complemented my meal perfectly and set a cheerful tone for the rest of my Friday morning.
Now, let’s talk about the star of the show—the French toast. It was nothing short of fantastic! Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and topped with just the right amount of syrup and fresh fruits. Each bite was a delightful mix of flavors and textures, making it one of the best French toasts I’ve had in a long time.
Awake in Carrollton is not just a place to grab breakfast; it’s a place where you can enjoy a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere with great service and even better food. Whether you’re looking to customize your meal or enjoy a classic breakfast dish, Awake has you covered. I thoroughly enjoyed my Friday breakfast here and will definitely be returning to try more from their menu. Highly...
