The concept is unique and the food is good 90% of the time. The problem is with the employees and their lack of communication/organizational skills. I’ve had several issues with picking up online orders from this location and it seems they are completely oblivious to how mistakes can be avoided, i.e. communicating with your team members and with your customers. I have arrived a little early for a few online orders, and felt invisible. No one ever greets me, even if they have no customers, and I have to practically wave my arms to get their attention. One time, once I let them know I was there, I was told “they are making it right now.” So I went to sit down and thought they would at least make eye contact with me when it was ready... 15 minutes go by, and 3 other customers come and go... All the while I am glancing up every couple of minutes to see if they’re trying to get my attention. I finally walk up to the cash register, a girl approached me and I told her I have been waiting on an online order... she walked away without saying a word and busied herself cleaning a cutting board. I then had to raise my voice and ask if she knows when it will be ready, and she walks over to their to go order table, picks up a bag and goes “oh, maybe this is it” 🤦🏼♀️ Who knows how long it had been sitting there. Chips were missing too so I had to go back in to get them after I had already driven off. This is just one recent example. Ordering online is supposed to be convenient and a time saver, but I usually end up wasting more time and adding stress. Save yourself a headache and just order at the counter, which is what I will be doing...
Read moreI was surprised.... I walked into the place questioning why I was entering a trendy salad joint. Now I know.
The bread that the salad is packed into is amazingly well suited for its purpose. Very light and crunchy without taking on a dry, chewy or hard texture. It is the perfect vessel for the main event. Which is whatever you chose it to be.
That being said, I was a little bit disappointed in the seemingly limited and largely ubiquitous options BUT, I have to say I was again surprised by the quality of the ingredients available to chose from. I would prefer that they add at least one more "sweet" dressing to their list. A balsamic vinegar reduction, might I suggest? (Nudge, nudge. Wink, wink).
I was on the fence about the price and still mostly am. But I will certainly be back to give it one more shot.
These places can be bothersome to people who don't know how to pair flavors well. If you're one of those people, I would make the following suggestion (which is a duplicate of my order and turned out very good): Get the Lone Star with the following changes and selections: Ditch the iceberg lettuce and trade it for a mix of Red Leaf and Spinach Add Blue Cheese Get the Cranberry Poppy Seed dressing (the sweet compliments the sharp flavors in the...
Read moreSo, this is a little different "review" than I'm used to posting - I'm actually not a Bread Zeppelin fan, but my wife and daughter are - and I know so many others who are - so I'm posting a review and giving their positive comments. First of all, what is a Bread Zeppelin - basically, it's a salad/sandwich chopped up and stuffed inside a sub-like loaf of bread - which is crazy that all the "good" bread has to be pulled out to put the salad/sandwich stuff in (but you can ask for your insides if you really want them). Why am I saying salad/sandwich - well, you can get each menu order as either a salad (like in a bowl) or as a sandwich - so it's sort of both. For those who love Bread Zeppelin, it's apparently the BEST of both worlds! Yes, I've tried it - just not my thing - but, I can see how people love Bread Zeppelin - so, try it for yourself and come to your own conclusion. Lots of stuff to choose from on the menu and it is definitely a little different pace than your typical burger and...
