Love this salon. A friend highly recommended it to me, so I decided to give it a try.
Her stylist was not available, so I ended up going with Marietta since she had an opening at the time I needed. She was awesome. She listens, she provides options and recommendations, and then she works her magic.
Lol, I say magic because she has that natural talent that shines above and beyond her technical skills. She is one of those stylists who can give you a cut that looks good when you get out of bed before you do anything to it.
My hair is baby fine, grows in a rather odd pattern, and I have 2 cowlicks, one right on the front, almost middle of my forehead. All that to say, my hair is not easy to cut!
When I lived in NC, I drove over an hour when my stylist moved rather than going through the frustration of trying to find another.
Lol, itās a bit of a drive from TX to NC, so this time, I had to bite the bullet. Marietta checks all the boxes for an ideal stylist in my book: she has expertise, creativity, and is a great communicator.
Sheās also not chop happy, so if you prefer to keep some length, she works with you.
She WILL tell you where she recommends you cut if your hair is damaged in order to improve the condition of your hair & get rid of the split ends, but she doesnāt just whack away like some stylists will.
I attached a couple of photos after she did some color for me. Started out basically all over platinum. Loved when she finished it! Had never tried dark roots, but really liked them, along with a couple of different darker blond shades she added.
She also put really light blue streaks , and then a couple of smaller areas of dark blue in because I was considering a more dramatic color change.
Everyone at the salon has been kind & helpful when I went in. Even met the owner, and he was very welcoming and friendly.
There is no air of cattiness or undercurrent of elitism that you find sometimes in good salons. I wholeheartedly recommend checking them out if you need a good haircut, and youāre in the...

The only thing that is good about this place is their customer service. Besides that, the skill sets here are not that great. This was my first visit and Addison took care of me. She sounded great at first until she explain to me what she would going to do. I wanted an All Over Color (1 color for my whole head). She explained to me that sheāll do my roots and then tone the rest of my hair (which I realized when I got my receipt that it was an extra cost for ācolor refreshā). What a trickster! Other places would apply the same color for my whole head, but she implied that it would be time consuming for both me and her..I called that BS. My hair came out to be dark brown which was what I wanted but then I still can see the highlights of caramel that I had when the light hits. She said thatās because the light is directly on my hair..hmm. She left me with a stained forehead and sides, she said āyou can go home and remove it with makeup remover.ā Insisted that I leave with stains on my face. I went home and followed her advice and it did not come off. I used makeup remover, rubbing alcohol, and dawn soap and nothing worked! I have an event tonight and panicked, so I called the salon and all they did was apologize.
I will never come back here again! This definitely left a very very bad first impression. Horrible skill sets, and they trick you so you can pay more for services that you didnāt...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSeveral weeks ago, I set up an appointment to get my hair done. Because the service was quoted as needing 5-6 hrs, and because the stylist didn't do weekends, I had to take a PTO day from work for the appointment. This was a compromise I was prepared for, so I made it clear during my consultation that I would need to ask off work. This week, the day of my appointment, I get a call just a few hours beforehand telling me they need to cancel because my stylist called in sick.
Initially, Cutting Edge's solution was to try to reschedule my appointment for several weeks later. That's it - no discount or attempt to get me in for an earlier slot. After I told them I took a day off for this, they said I could come in that day and get the service from another stylist, which I declined when I saw she didn't have any previous work that was anything close to what I wanted.
If I had canceled on such short notice, the salon would have charged me the full amount - hundreds of dollars - and rightly so because this is their time, their livelihood, and a cancellation like that robs them of an opportunity to work and make money. But where is this regard for their client's time and money? Where is the effort to compromise and meet your client's needs? I understand that things happen and people get sick, but hold yourselves to the same standard that you...
