What they do well, they do very well. What they do poorly, they do very poorly. They just don’t do much well.

Overall: Entrées were quite good, but not good enough to redeem the poor service, excessive food wait time, weird atmosphere, and gross accompaniments (i.e., sides, starters).

The Experience We were kindly seated quickly but waited ten minutes before having our drink orders taken. Not a big deal but rather awkward.

We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, and they came out quickly. However, they were terrible, and the only flavor they had was that of soapy water. We didn’t eat them after initial tastes but no attempt was made to remedy the situation. Our neighboring table had the same issue.

Our main dishes followed…over an hour later. Larger parties that arrived before us waited even longer. Again, no explanation or attempt to appease the situation. A properly managed restaurant would have had the manager/owner making rounds with, at the very least, an explanation. It was clear the servers felt awkward about the situation because they began avoiding their tables. I don’t fault the servers completely, a manager or owner should have shouldered this awkwardness, so servers could have felt confident to remain attentive.

With this all said, once the main dishes did finally arrive, we had little hope they would be warm much less edible. To our surprise, we were very pleased with our entrees’ main items. My wife had the filet mignon and said it was excellent. I had the black and blue burger, and it was surprisingly good as well. Both were cooked perfectly to our requests, and we were very impressed.

The sides were small in portion and bland. After adding salt and pepper, the mac-n-cheese had some flavor. My wife said the Brussel sprouts were alright but saved by their bacon.

Hello all you readers, I really wanted to post a comment to praise "Maya" for her OUTSTANDING service! I left her a note on my ticket, but when I learned of this - I didn't want to pass up the chance for everyone to have an experience of comfort while dining at Carrollton chophouse. Our 1st time visit was on a Saturday after a graduation at West GA and apparently the establishment was almost full from reserved and pop-in party groups!

I want you to understand that we were greeted by the manager with an apology on the lack of staff scheduled and the unexpected wait and backlog in the kitchen. (I worked as a server during my college years, so I understand) We decided to stay and wait it out and it proved to be a pleasant decision. While waiting, I had the opportunity to observe the limited staff, although very overwhelmed DIG deep to get all things handled.

Let me back up to our waitress, Maya. Maya was called in last minute by management I assume to help with the crowd. We had waited about 17 - 20 minutes just for any type of greeting or drinks from anyone; however, Maya came to our table and turned Everything around! Maya not only gave us exemplary service to our table (her only), but she was a HUGE assist to EVERYONE else in the restaurant as she jumped in to help! Once Maya began serving our table, she made our first visit, the best visit with all the circumstances that I explained earlier! I know we didn't lack for anything and I'm sure her assistance helped the other two servers stay current with their tables as well. Hold on, I must not leave the cook out of the equation - Chris was the Grill Master on duty and ON TOP OF ALL HIS DUTIES, I have to add -- the food was SCRUMPTIOUS!! Be aware this place is not a place to go! My husband and my self went to this place on Saturday July 13th 2024 for our 1 month wedding anniversary celebration! We have never been here drove 40 mins, we made reservations for 6 was on time, the moment we walked in the place we weren’t greeted and waited about 5 mins for a hostess from the other side come and greet us! She then told us give her a second she needed to ask a manager about the reservation, she comes back we ask for a booth and she said sorry we don’t have available please follow me! We get to the table the table is dirty hadn’t been wiped, it was off balance so we disregard, and was trying to make the best out of our date night, it took a few mins for the waiter to come and greet us we asked the waiter for the drinks and then Told him the table was dirty could you please wipe and he did apologize, we didn’t have no silverware or salt or pepper on the table either we ordered our food he got ribs with fries and I got salmon with bake potato and salad, I asked the salmon not have honey glaze on it as I can’t have anything spicy - food comes the salmon still had spicy Cajun on it I ask for another piece the 2nd piece comes out way smaller and guess what had the Cajun on it and it was over cooked like you couldn’t chew my husband well his ribs were slap cold not even a temp to them he told the waiter to even put his finger in the ribs and feel and the waiter did! This was such an upset for our first date night as a married couple only to find a restaurant that doesn’t listen or over cooks the food or doesn’t cook the food!
