Read moreThis is by far one of the worst dining experiences of my life. Upon arrival we were told by the young girl at the hostess stand that our wait would be between 30 and 45 minutes. We were a party of three adults and two children. WE WAITED 1 hour AND 35 minutes for a table. We were told multiple times that we were next to be seated and approximately three other parties were seated before us. We finally got seated and our waitress was kind, we waited about 30 minutes for our food, which was fine except my burger, order to be cooked medium, came out well don’t , might I even say burnt on top… While we’re waiting after ordering our food and drinks I asked to speak with a manager to notify management of the extremely inaccurate wait times. The female manager came over without introducing herself and super cheerfully said “what’s going on guys” as if nothing was wrong, Def not how you should approach customers knowing there is a complaint. I told the Manager the full story of the wait times, and how we were skipped multiple times. I didn’t ask for my bill to be free, I didn’t ask for a free dessert, but the manager felt it was necessary to completely defend the hostess by telling us we should have reservations for parties of six or more and that it’s hard to estimate weight times when people sit around and there are reservations being met. Firstly, we were a party of 5 people , 3 adults and two small children, secondly I totally understand being off by a little bit on wait time, 10-15 minutes, heck even 25-30 if communicated, but a whole hour longer than quoted is just completely unacceptable. I felt extremely disrespected by the manager on duty. Two of us witnessed an employee with no gloves, eating food right in front of the window where food is served, then continue to work the food orders and plate without putting gloves back on , just all out in the open for everyone to see. I’m just extremely disappointed in this establishment and I definitely will not be...
Read moreI've been to Brown Dog twice now and both time I've been impressed with the quality of the food, the attentiveness of the employees and the warm and inviting atmosphere.
It's obvious they put care into their food and cocktail menus and they use the highest quality ingredients. I love a good cocktail and when I see a variety of fresh ingredients and garnishes behind the bar, I know I am in for a treat.
I would call the food here elevated Southern. Yes, there are ingredients we all know and love like fried green tomatoes and collards and grits and brisket, but they are all incorporated into unique recipes, with incredible sauces and sides that create something entirely new and delicious.
With my family, we haven't eaten a single thing that I would not order again! Apple butter jeans: With turkey, ham, brie and apples - yes please! Brussels sprouts appetizer: bacon, balsamic, blue cheese and dried cranberry - where do I sign up?! (and if you just want some for you, you can also order the brussels sprouts serve this way as a side with your meal!) Three Little Pigs Crunch Wrap: Pulled pork, andouille sausage, bacon, pimento, fried green tomato and more - So many great tastes that taste AWESOME together. Short rib grilled cheese: short rib, cheddar, pepper jack, pickles, smoked onion aioli, Cheerwine barbecue sauce- Yes! YES PLEASE - and why do you have to be two hours from where I live?!
The cocktails are also really good and change seasonally which is fun. The ones I had back in the summer were light and refreshing and fruity while the ones I had at Christmastime included things like toasted marshmallows and espresso, warm flavors perfect for winter season.
I'm one of those people that wants to try all of the places, and I'm not in Carrollton that often, but knowing how good the food is at Brown Dog sincerely makes me not want to go anywhere else! Y'all...
