If there was an option for no stars, I would give that instead. i came up here for dinner with some friends this evening and didn’t enjoy my experience at all. when we were initially ordering our drinks, we were told that we couldn’t add flavors to our margs if they were on the rocks, only frozen. we knew this wasn’t the case because the drink menu offers all flavored margaritas, and we’ve gotten flavored margaritas on ice here before, but we let them just give us frozen margs instead. when we got our drinks, there was barely any flavoring added to them, and they tasted like hand sanitizer. later into the evening, my mom called up to the restaurant to place an order over the phone. the bartender hung up on her twice. when she called back the first time, the girl told her she was “waiting for her to figure it out” and then hung up on her a second time when she was trying to make a payment over the phone. this was the main issue that i had tonight, because regardless of how busy/tired/annoyed you may already be, there’s no reason to be rude to people who have been nothing but polite toward you thus far, and i just take offense to someone hanging up on my mom when she wasn’t doing anything but politely trying to place an order and give the restaurant more business, which should be the goal when you’re...
Read moreMy girl friend and I visited this restaurant for the first time a little after 9pm on Sunday night 10/6/19. Every other Mexican restaurant in the area was closed or closing. We ordered to go. We placed our order for 2 orders of Texas Fajitas for two, four hard shell beef tacos and cheese dip with No jalapeños. Our food came rather fast there wasn't many people in the restaurant . We were happy it was ready so fast. It smelled awesome on the way home. I live three blocks away from the place. Over all the food did have a good flavor. However the boot leather we had for steak in our fajitas really did disappointed us both! She opened the tacos first, three of the four tocos were soggy. So much so you could not pick it up with out it falling apart. The cheese dip that we ordered of course had jalapeños in it. After making it very clear twice that we did not want jalapeños in it ... 47 dollars and change for the food. 10 dollar tip... We would like to give them another try however the first try was really expensive we thought. Not really sure how to rate them because it was like I said late Sunday night a little after 9pm. They might have just had the meat prepped for awhile. Dried out and tuff.. The order for the dip was just not paid attention to because it was mentioned at least two if not...
Read moreLocomex has been on the Square forever for a reason; the food is great but affordable, the drinks are usually fantastic, and the interior has plenty of character. The only reason I wouldn't rate Loco Mex a perfect 5-star is the sporadic staff. Generally speaking, the familiar faces here are stellar, upstanding, and accommodating for a quick visit. When this staff is present, Loco Mex is perfect. Other times, usually around lunch, Loco Mex might be almost completely empty, and the daytime staff would be (seemingly) part of a rotating cast of UWG students that would either ignore me for around five minutes until I left, or treat me with a palpable disinterest while they conversed near the kitchen or looked at their phones. Four times out five, I think Loco Mex is excellent. I love the tacos, the pollo ranchero, the variety of draft beer, and even the people I generally meet while sitting at the bar. Just about any weeknight is a safe bet for mexican on the...
