So excited to be able to try Korean bagels without having to travel to Korea!
The textures. Wow. Soft. I can eat the bagels by themselves. Iāve tried 3 of the so far - everything, sesame, and brown sugar cinnamon. The brown sugar cinnamon tastes very similar like a cinnamon pretzel, has cinnamon layers twisted into it, definitely one I would get multiple if I see it available again! Heads up - Koreans love sweet, and the green onion cream cheese was very sweet!
I attended the soft opening on 09/05, and I heard they were very overwhelmed previously so today they limited on how much each person could order with a limited menu.
Based on previous Instagram posts, the sandwiches definitely got skimped, portions of lox and egg salad got decreased by half. Iām definitely disappointed because the pictures sold me!
Operations was very inefficient, systems were lacking. One person had their hands in toasting, spreading, garnishing, packaging, slicing, and ringing up, when there were at least 7 workers who some stood around sometimes waiting for something to do. Slips had to be verbally read to the cashier (Iām sure she can read it). I saw a packaged order bagged, then unbagged, then boxes all reopened, repackaged 3 times. The experience was affected, and I hope they iron out the inefficiencies⦠if I didnāt have to wait so long I definitely will frequent more often! Iām going to wait a few months before my next visit. Overall, great product, but need...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was in and out in about 30 minutes with around 15 people in line, which wasnāt bad at all.
The ordering process was very confusing. Thereās a sign at the cash register that says āOrder,ā but when you go up there to order they redirect you to the front by the door. (???) Then, instead of paying after ordering (cashier was very available), you wait until your name is called to pay and get your food. The flow felt weird.
At the cream cheese station, an employee is hand filling it into little cups for each order. It seems like they could just pre-fill these ahead of time to make service faster.
As for the food: The bagels were good I tried plain, everything, roasted garlic, and onion cheese. The garlic bagel was very sticky on the outside, was not expecting that and Iām not sure what it was. The outside of them had a nice crunch and soft and fluffy inside.
The cream cheeses, however, were not for me. I got green onion, cheddar, and fig. They were all unexpectedly sweet, too sweet for my taste. I wouldnāt order them again.
Iād try the bagels again, but Iād skip the cream cheese next time. Not exactly jumping to return. They do have plain cream cheese, but after how sweet the others were, Iām...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFinally tried the Korean bagels. I was happy there was no limit on the bagels but there was for sandwiches. I purchased 3 of each different bagels and they were very soft but the downside was it did not taste like a ābagelā. It was soft and more like baguette bread instead. But it was still yummy. Now the cream cheeseā¦..š I also got one of each flavors and It was way too sweet. Even the Green onion, pesto . Koreans do NOT like too much sweet⦠so that was kind of disappointing. I wish the sweet ones are sweet and savory ones are salty. But they were all sweet, almost like they all tasted the same. Overall it was good but not something Iād ever line up for again.
Everyone at the beginning of the order was awesome and energetic with great energy. The two guys⦠eh. But they were super nice. But The cashierā¦ā¦ā¦. She had no emotion on her face the whole time and was very slow and just basically stood there and the guy had to read the orders for her to ring up.. took about 15 mins just to check out. But!!! This was soft opening day 2.. so totally understandable. Next time, Iāll definitely try the sandwiches. My favorite was the garlic bagel and Apple cinnamon bagel. I wonāt be back for a...
