Dami Korean Restaurant — Restaurant in Carrollton

Came twice, the first time had both great service and food, the second time left me slightly perplexed.

After a simply but satisfying dinner here a month ago, I returned looking forward to another great experience.

As usual, portion sizes were huge and I wanted to take my leftovers to go.

This time, one of the staff (seemed like the owner or someone in a managerial position) told me that they don’t usually let customers pack the side dishes/banchan to go, citing supposed food safety concerns that some dishes go bad easily. However in my experience, family style restaurants like these have always included side dishes when I was doing takeout/delivery so I commented that to her, to which she agreed that yes they do pack side dishes in that scenario.

I began to wonder whether she might be getting disgruntled that I was packing the side dishes which were customarily provided free flow as part of the sit down meal—however I had not asked for any top ups myself since the single portions were more than ample and I could not even finish half of the portion.

I reassured the staff that I had not asked for any additional servings of the side dishes I was packing to go, and that these had come as a first serving with my meal, so I did not understand what the issue was. She continued to reiterate her concerns about food safety to which I was not sufficiently convinced was the root issue since I had received side dishes multiple times when doing takeout. Ultimately I got to take my leftovers to go but I got the sense that she was signalling that she would not let me do so in future.

A little uncomfortable with the encounter and I was initially looking forward to coming here more often but now I’m not so sure..

To be clear the food...

Good food, generally. Horrible services though. Had to wait about 40 min to get a order of Bibimbap. Asked server about the food and the first response was that the food is coming out, and the second response when we asked again is that it takes long time to heat up the grill pan in a frustrated tone. She didn't even check with the kitchen. Empty side dishes, no one cares, never came by although we were sitting at the middle of the restaurant. I had to walked to the counter to talk to servers about the unproperly cooked food, and they talked to themselves about the kitchen forgetting and got into the kitchen, no updates, served other tables, left us waiting for another minutes and finally brought little dish with the meats....our food was already cold. Not a single apology. Had to talked to the owner. While I am paying for my food I was also able to hear them mocking about what I said in Korean. Very disappointed and rude. Will not go again unless they change their whole...

Food isn’t bad but it isn’t worth the bad service. We’ve been here three times and every single time they are very unfriendly and this last time we came here it was at 4pm so we weren’t very hungry, just wanted something to tie us over until our late dinner. We wanted to just share a combo but the waiter wasn’t happy about it and ended up skimping us on the side dishes and the broth that came with it. We know we got less because we saw someone order the same thing and got 3 more side dishes than us. So needless to say this is our last time here. We kept thinking maybe it was just a one off of horrible service but it’s happened every time. We’ve had better Korean food, we come here whenever we’re in the area but honestly it’s...
