There is so much potential with this location. It appeared that management was not present, or trained as we watched over 10 people walk out due to the hostess/waiters decision to not sit people in a 2/3 empty dining hall due to 2 people calling out this morning. The proper approach instead of saying that people could not be seated for 15-30 minutes, would have been to seat the parties, and explain that the food would be slower due to the call out, most people would be understanding. The waiters/hostesses could have taken drink orders and kept the business in the establishment and done some work instead of texting and chatting at the register 2-3 people at a time looking like they had nothing to do.
We decieded to wait, give it a try, and were seated after aproximately 25 minutes. Unfortunately they were out of pork bacon, which happens, but come on. The staff was friendly, food came out quickly, and it was decent quality. The waitress was there, but there wasnt a display of effort, more of a melancholy, I dont know her name, because she didnt introduce herself or attempt to small talk.
The breakfast burrito was a bit small for the cost, but it was good, even with turkey bacon as a substitute. For a family of 4 (2 small children) the total was $66ish dollars. What really killed the experience was that a 20% gratuity was automatically applied.
I think the people walking out the door is the result of staff being guaranteed a tip causing the wait staff to not be motivated to go above and beyond to make money. I likely would have tipped more than the 20%, but with it being added to the bill automatically you already stole what you wanted, and upon leaving i did see a small 8x12 landscape piece of paper in the window disclosing that they would automatically add the tip at 20%.
More of a safety concern is that the steel column supporting the 1/2 cantilevered entryway roof was knocked out and dangling at an inward angle from the base bolts. A tension load was observed in the roof shingles as this column is not only for looks. The entry is ready to collapse and needs immediate attention by the Owner, or someone is likely to be hurt if not roof damage to the structure.
Overall, we may give it another try in the next year, but we definitely wanted and hoped that this could be our weekly treat diner that we...
Read moreMeh... Not great. We had high hopes for this place but it was rather disappointing.
Chill atmosphere. Nothing too fancy.
Breakfast platter was ok. Scrambled eggs were barely equivalent to 1 egg. The frozen sausage patties were hard as rocks, you couldn't cut them. Plain Pancakes were tough & rubbery. Super sweet like it was waffle batter, not pancake batter. Ordered chicken salad in croissant... They didn't have croissants, so they were just planning on using Texas toast without asking if that's what I wanted. It wasn't. I was really looking forward to pancakes & the croissant... A lovely cafe experience. It was fast from lovely.
Instead of the chicken salad, I ordered avocado toast. Menu said multigrain toast, fresh avocado & tomatoes, topped with eggs. Sounded delish! Terrible choice. Ordered over medium eggs since I'm not a fan of the yolk, received over easy runny eggs. Tomatoes were hard and flavorless. The 'fresh' avocado was more like a premix guac with cilantro and other ingredients that you buy in the store which made the bread so soggy, you couldn't pick it up. It was inedible.
They gave us a discount but the bill was still over $50 for breakfast for 2 people?!?! We ordered a breakfast platter, avocado toast, and pancakes, coffee and soda. Not sure how that adds up to over $50, but ok. If it were a spectacular brunch, ok. But inedible cheap food... not worth the high price tag. Also, they include a mandatory 20% tip... Definitely not deserved with this kind of "you'll get what we give you" type of service. We definitely do not recommend &...
Read moreI’m on the road traveling for work. I’d missed a turn for my hotel & saw this place & decided to try it out. BEST decision! I’m so happy I tried this place out. I ordered the turkey burger with fries, a garden salad, & the fried green tomatoes. Everything was so delicious! The portions are well worth the price. Although I ordered to-go, I had some time to check out the atmosphere. It was super busy, so it took a bit of time to get my order. I got the impression this is a busy place, but it’s worth the wait. If I lived in the area, I’d be a regular customer for sure. The young woman who took my order was very nice & helpful. They have a full menu & it was hard to decide - I wanted to try everything! Anyway, this is a great place. I’m surprised at some of the negative reviews here & you know, sometimes people have off days; we can’t all be 100% all the time. It’s not hard to see that this is a great place even on the “off” days. I hope I get another job project in this area so I can come back! Thank you! Some days on the road are very taxing & it was so nice to come across a place that isn’t yet, another fast food chain.
Keep up the great work! I’d like to add that their prices are very much in line with what other restaurants charge. I travel all over & most places have smaller portions & not as good quality. I’m sorry some patrons were disappointed. I’m picky as hell with food & customer service, & I found this place to be one of the best. To each their...
