Hot Potato Pie — Restaurant in Carson City

Absolutely loved it! Was looking for something new in the Carson area, and we came across Hot Potato Pie on Google. Make sure you go to Unit E in the building when you walk in since there aren’t signs outside showing the business name. We had a little bit of trouble finding it, but so glad we went in. The ambience was great. It felt like a much more elevated experience than just having a “potato”. There are more items on the actual menu than on the menus on the table.

We ordered two entrees, the Yurikas Steakhouse and the Brisket. We were greeted by the man working the register and he was very pleasant. The owner was working the kitchen. This business has been open (as of right now) for just a month and is able absolute GEM. The experience and quality of what you are getting for the price you’re getting is, is WORTH it. I would actually even pay more.

The owner made an off menu item that she offered to us that had Takis in it (see photo). It’s a must try. It was my favorite out of the 3 we had in front of us but all 3 were excellent!

Don’t skip this business as an option for what to eat for lunch or dinner. The containers are a smart choice for reheating later in the oven. They use eco friendly straws, utensils, and cups, and the drinks offered were a very nice change. The pineapple cream soda was so refreshing!

Like other reviews, the portions are big. I got two potatoes and I could of easily got one to split. I was surprised on how much we got. It was nice and fluffy and perfectly tender so no complaints there. My only minor issue was for me personally the bacon could of been cooked a bit longer and it would of been nice to see a cheddar cheese sauce as an option instead of shredded cheddar (or in addition to). But honestly, neither of those is any reason to not go there. I will still absolutely be back and would love to try other potatoes. I had the broccoli cheddar and bacon bacon potato. The atmosphere of the restaurant is modern and actually kind of upscale! The service was pleasant and the food was ready in a matter of minutes. The Stubborn Soda is better than your average Coke/Pepsi and doesn’t have high fructose corn syrup and all the nasty stuff! Another thing I LOVED was the earth friendly cups, straws, and spork!

Now the food….. HOT DAMN!! Big portions, delicious potatoes and amazing options! I got the pizza potato and my friend got the buffalo chicken potato. SO GOOD!!! Keep in mind, these are fresh from the oven, so the container itself is fairly hot, so use caution when getting it out of the bag.
