I gave this Diana's two stars just because of the name and because the location in Norwalk is night and day compared to my experience last night with this place.
Norwalk has better customer service. Norwalk has better tasting food. Norwalk has better customer service.
I visited this location along with my partner to pick up an order that was made over the phone. The lady at the register was kind enough, we paid for our $100+ order and went to the side area where they hand you your food.
The lady handing over the food seemed to be in a bad mood, almost like we were inconveniencing her. We asked for more chips and she said "the chips are right there in the bag!" (in spanish). We were willing to pay for extra fresh chips but it wasn't even thrown in there as an option.
We got home to eat with family and then bam! They forgot an item on the order, it was some Carne Asada nachos. We call and the person who picked up the phone sounded defensive/hostile when we called to inform them that we were missing nachos from our order (we had already gotten home but the pushy lady that gave us our food from the beginning made us feel like we had to leave asap which is why we didn't double check at the location).
Once home, we started eating while we sent another family member to get the nachos. The food was sub-par. Very sub-par. I ordered a Burrito de Mole for myself and it just tasted bland and like it was made with no effort. I ordered a chimichanga as well and it was dry and cold.
Once our family member returned from getting the nachos they had not given us he brought back a whole bunch of chips. But before it apparently he was told "nos regañan" when they give chips. My biggest complaint with this is offer an alternative. A paying alternative that's not the bags in the store (they don't taste the same). Don't just say no or act like we are breaking some culinary law. Especially when you have a $100 order to give you 1 dollar worth of chips - it doesn't make sense.
The 2 star rating is also because they seemed to have renovated the outside and it looks nice (picture attached). Also, they have a virgin mary you can pray to inside. My advice to management is for their to be a training on customer service and to recommend the virgen altar to be used for good. There is no place for religious figures in a restaurant when you have staff that are going to behave as your staff did this unfortunate night.
Covid is no excuse. Everygoing is going through it and I am going to visit the Norwalk Diana's location soon to be able to wipe this horrible experience...
Read moreI finally made it to this local restaurant where I love and I wasn’t disappointed at all …Natalie was my cashier and she suggested two of their very popular so I went for the Red Wet burrito filled with chunks of meat and beans plus their red sauce is spicy 🌶️ just what I needed for those of you who don’t like spicy it’s not bad at all just right…super flavorful and delicious reminded me of my aunts favorite mole sauce…it was hearty filled with enough to say don’t bother me right now I’m busy…leave a message! Place is a stable her in Carson to come and get your Mexican grub on plus some. Since it’s a local store to buy masa for tamales and all your garnishment and needed items from chips and salsa to sweet Mexican bread and cakes ..coffee and champurado too beer for those who want and different guisados to choose from Natalie said their carne asada burrito was a top seller too but I wanted something saucy and cheesy so a wet burrito did the work satisfying my taste buds this morning with real authentic Mexican food. Plate served with a little lettuce on side to cool the spice down but it’s delicious as is no need to change heat level I would add more for mine if you asked me… so they have kids menú too the location has plenty of seating and ample parking across the location and behind it..staff is friendly atmosphere very pleasant it’s set up like cafeteria style so super casual not a fancy restaurant not table cloths yet comfortable closed in eating area. I would of given it a 4 or five star if the following would be changed How can you not have a system in place to leave gratuity for the employees the receipt doesn’t allow you to leave tip…I didn’t have cash on me so electronic payment but no where to leave tip…I highly suggest that employees get compensated for their hard work from customers who would and can offer gratuity for their great service to customers. Being Hispanic my grandma would say…a table is not very welcoming without table cloth’s I can see how a cafeteria set up is easier to clean and maybe it should continue this way but probably some decor on tables to pop out a little of our culture. Coffee machine…needs more coffee grounds didn’t taste like coffee even with creamer …overall what I came here to enjoy was definitely what I needed and it was very satisfying....
Read moreWhat used to be an easy experience to call in an order and pick up is now frustrating taking more than 10 minutes on hold. The service is not as it used to be. I’m lucky if I get someone who is nice to answer the phone. At times someone will come on and just tell me please hold without me saying a word and slap the call on hold. Then when I go to pick up the order there’s an even longer wait and the order should be done. Quality of the food has changed and the prices are outrageous. A quart of rice and a quarter beans couple years back Was $9. $14 now. A quart of chili Verde or Rojo is now $28. A large bowl of Albondigas for 2 is $24.. At these prices I can’t afford to eat there as often as I used to. Goes to show the economy is outrageous. Use to be nice looking and maintain. Place is dingy with yellow oily walls. The beautiful flowers and Garden is gone the gorgeous roses too. Then the pictures of Diana looks gross....
