My favorite food for years has been sushi and now I have medical things going on causing so many dietary restrictions, and sushi is about the only thing I can eat out (everything else is have to make from scratch at home, which is difficult when you work all the time plus chronic illness 😬). I used to order to go from a popular place in Acworth most in the area probably know of. Well, they were expensive and honestly, the past couple of years I got not only food poisoning but it wasn't good anymore. On a whim my husband said to look at this place since we were at Kroger down the street getting groceries. So glad he did that because I literally order my favorite meal to pick up from here no joke- like 2 times a week. I'm a full time therapist who deals with trauma and on hard/long days it's my go to. Affordable, delicious, always fresh. Everyone knows me and my order now too which I love. Even when my husband will pick my food up when he's heading home some days they now recognize him. Love supporting local places that are friendly and are always asking how I am when I pick up. And seriously- best miso and freshest rolls for the price I've ever had. Instead of grabbing a roll or 2 from Kroger or Publix- order here to pick up and it's fresher, cheaper, and you can get more! I can't say enough great things about this place. During a difficult time of not being able to eat many things I love right now, this place has helped me feel like I'm not missing...
Read moreThis was our favorite place. We knew everyone there, and I’ve been coming since it opened. Before they served alcohol.
Yesterday around 4 pm we went in there for dinner. The waiter (younger one) has always been goofy and fun… but this time it was clear to us that he was on drugs of some kind… not sure what. But he was jumping, almost falling, stumbling over, punching the wall like he was boxing it, staring at our drinks and not leaving, being weird and throwing our soup on the table.
Then it starts getting late and no food, and he comes back asking what we ordered again with his ticket still on his pad, and said he wasn’t sure why we had no food yet, (he never turned in ticket maybe? ) and then asked if he had gave us our soups and salads. (He did, and just removed the bowls some 5 minutes before) He sounded high, acted high. Scared my 7 year old half to death as she has known him for years too, she was confused and asking us the whole time why he was being that way. She didn’t even want him to get her refil or come back… which as adults and I being her mother, this enraged us to no end. We didn’t eat all our food and we left without boxing.
I don’t know what happened but I loved everyone there… I hope that kid is alright, but we cannot come back with that kind of behavior , made everyone with us...
Read moreI was certainly hoping for better when we decided to try something different and eat here. First off - they advertise Hibachi - but when you enter, you realize there are no Hibachi tables and everything is cooked in the back. Oh well...I've seen the show a million times. No big deal.
I got a Hibachi dinner (Filet and Scallops) and a Sushi appetizer. The Sushi was pretty good, but when the dinner came out, I was very disappointed. First off - the "Filet" wasn't. I don't have a clue what cut of meat that was, but it was NOT filet. It was tough and chewy. Obviously they substituted some cheaper cut of meat. The scallops were rubbery and just not good. They were of good size, but just kind of....well...it was like having a sponge in your mouth.
My wife's meal was even worse. She just got "Hibachi" chicken which was tough and WAY dry. She only ate a little bit of it and said "I'm over this" and pushed it aside.
It has been several years since we'd been here and I guess we forgot why we didn't patronize this place. The food was TERRIBLE and was brought out soaked in cooking oil. I gave them two stars because they were attentive and kept my drink full, but I can't say we'll ever be...
