First of all, the lady acting as a server in the main dining room was excellent. Gave great service was very attentive.

I had read through the reviews. Saw some complaints, but I figure I still would give them a try. You never know when someone has a bad day.... I myself waited a few days to fill out this review. I wanted to be sure I really felt the way I did.

I was by myself and ordered extra food just so I could try a few different things.

To address one specific complaint that commented on there pizza not having any sauce.... I would disagree that it didn't have any sauce rather.... Their sauce, which is used for many different items, is pretty much pure tomato sauce. Very watery, needs seasoning... They should really improve on this. If it was traditional sauce with chunks of tomato, I could find my way to excuseing the wateriness... This does seem straight out of can though.

Their cheese is a decent quality. The pepperoni had flavor. Nothing too extravagant or expensive with these items.

Their cheese sticks- ouch!. The breading for the cheese sticks was absolutely awful. I would have to say since they were so similar that they are frozen cheese sticks. I've tried my share of frozen cheese sticks at home... And every single brand I've ever tried in my life tasted better than these. That is saying a lot... To be followed up with the watery sauce. It was just bad experience.

I tried a couple other things too. Sandwich and french fries.

The restaurant itself as far as atmosphere goes was good. It's a nice large space. The server brings you drinks and your food items after ordering at the counter...

However, my poor experience has left me with the belief that this restaurant is in fact cutting corners to save money. Whether that's on product or other items....

I still encourage you to come and find out for yourself and your opinion... I always hope for the best, especially when it's not a chain restaurant.

If the owners were going to take any advice or the grain of salt... I would ask them to thicken up their socks. Add some spice... A little bit of oregano garlic in your sauce goes a long way. If you truly love your own sauce then give people an option of ordering it or the new. You need to get new cheese sticks, if you're making them yourself try some panko.

All in all, I have to say that I probably won't return. I didn't find anything that I enjoyed. If they change the sauce, let me know! It's the key...

Holy moly. We went in to get 2 waters and a Gyro Calzone. However our waters, which should have been counted as free, were charged as soft drinks. I pointed this out and the girl running the register was struggling to remove the drinks. This was fine, as she seemed new to the service and just didnt know waters were free. Then the woman running the other register, who claimed to be the manager, came in to help, but she only made things worse. She was trying to give us change for each transaction separately. She overcomplicated it and was really confused with all the math she did. So we waited patiently for a bit, and we did our math as to what change we should have received (we gave a 20 and should have received roughly 10 in change). She completely obliterated any calculations she did, and not trusting her math, we explained that we would just like our 20 back. That way we could leave and there would be no complications over money. She tried to refund everything separately. First the drinks, then the food, but she seemed to be puzzled by this as well. In short, it was completely over complicated and everyone involved in the experience was frustrated and confused. We were shocked that this woman was unable to perform simple math without the need of a calculator, and we tried to assist her, but were merely told by another employee to stop as we were flustering her. This was not our intention as we just wanted our money back and to help things run smoother. In the end she was over dramatizing everything, and it was quite pitiful. We gave a $20 bill and she tried to give us money back with a 5, several 1's, and a pile of nickels and pennies. She gave us some sass and acted like a victim for a good bit while she was attempting to do the math. In the end, we were finally given our money back and left to go get...

Thieves and liars. Let's start with that. Last two trips here were disappointing. Service was horrible and food was just as bad. Way off from days gone by. Next to last trip we thought they were having a bad day. Last trip it was obvious, to a person who has owned two successful resturants, there was major issues deeper than a bad day. We asked to use our reward points we earned over the year for $900 in purchases. Were told they were gone, erased from their computer by new owners. Ask for manager, Staff instructed to lie by saying to tell us they were gone the bank when in fact they came out of the back as we were getting in our vehicle. Ask for owners contact information and were told that information is not available to the customers. I'll give this crew and restaurant 6 months depending on how deep the backsliding owners pockets are. They will never survive in this city or county by lying to and stealing from their customers. Too many other well run quality resturants in Cartersville and Bartow for the citizens to spend their hard earned money with. If you notice, the other unfavorable reviews have not been addressed by this restaurant. They think they are too good to answer their customers. We will see when they have an empty...

On this particular visit, I was a little disappointed. Due to the portion, it was like my portion was smaller than I've ever had at this particular restaurant. Also I think they charge a little too much for their add-on meat. Especially if you're getting spaghetti for $9.59 I paid $2 extra for Italian sausage, and there was hardly any on the plate. see pictures But other than that, this is a good restaurant. I like the service. I like the atmosphere. I've never had any problems. Until this particular time Maybe they just wasn't paying attention when they were making my food.with spaghetti extra italian sausage, and a drink and tip. It was $18 and some change.

Almost a 3 star review. Incredibly friendly staff saved it a bit. Ordered the lasagna and it was horrid. Calzone was yummy and well made. Greek salad was odd but acceptable. The kalamata olives were not fresh tasting, they do not have a Greek vinaigrette, the size of the green peppers, and cucumbers were too large to manage with out a knife. The lasagna noodles were overcooked to the point of mush. The sauce was overcooked with a very unpleasant bitter taste. I wish I had a better experience here, I've eaten at other Gondoliers before with much better results. My advice here is if your not going to do it right, don't do it at all.

Gondolier Pizza recently (second time) and overall had a pretty good experience. The pizza itself was solid—flavorful, well-cooked, and satisfying. As for the fried mushrooms, they had good flavor, but the crust could have used a little more crispiness for that ideal texture. With how expensive pizza has become these days, expectations are naturally high, and while this didn’t completely blow me away, it held its own. Would consider going back. I might check out the hamburger or some other sandwich for the next experience. I do like the way they have the serving pizza trays...it reminded of Chicago.
