First time visiting this place. I’m from Texas and was expecting real good southern style bbq. I ordered the two meat, ribs and chicken, meal. Whoa! It was a lot of meat. $25.66 with potato salad and green beans. Too much for me to eat in one sitting. As far as the food, the potato salad is the bomb. It’s actually one of the best ones I’ve tried. It was creamy, but enough texture in it to balance it out perfectly. The green beans were good. They weren’t over cooked, but I would have added a dash of salt and maybe some bacon bits or something to spice them up a little. It was okay. Just okay. The ribs, seven ribs were to be exact, were not good at all. They were tender. The meat fell off the bone easily, they were a good size, but no flavor at all. I did add the spicy bbq sauce to kick it up a little, but that didn’t work either. I’m not gonna say they were dry, but not juicy at all. I just feel that the ribs were cooked in an oven and not in a smoker. I don’t feel that they were marinated and I would have seared the meat to keep the juices from drying out. Finally, the chicken. It was a lot of chicken. Leg, thigh and wing. But, it was dry. Very dry. When I bit into it, it reminded me of bitting into cardboard. I’m sorry to critique it this way, but DAM! This is the south and I’d be ashamed to put out a chicken dinner with this chicken. Needless to say, I did not eat it. When I eat bbq, I want to taste the smokiness, the rich spicy flavors and the juicy and tenderness of the meat. In closing, the customer service was decent. I did go during a busy time. I asked for recommendations from the host, but she really didn’t know the menu that well. Overall, I got a lot of food for the price I paid, but I didn’t...
Read moreSimply put, if I want a seriously good burger without having to leave the city then Shane's is my go-to. Cashiers are always insanely friendly and make sure you get exactly what you want. I generally stick with my usual order of the cowboy burger with fries and the burger is always cooked well (usually med-well or well done) and is super juicy, plus they're some of the biggest burgers I've ever had. I also usually grab the sweet bbq sauce and dip everything in it.
The bbq chicken and pork are pretty average for a bbq place in my opinion, but I also haven't had it as often to really weigh in on their average taste so it may be different from my experience. We've also ordered the chicken tenders and they're... tenders. Crunchy. Little dry. Not really much flavoring in the breading. It helps to dip them in the bbq sauce to give it that extra kick.
I've also done take out orders and they were very nice about everything. Once the food came out our cashier opened the box and made sure everything looked good and everything was in there while repeating the order back, even remembering to add in the side order of sauce.
All in all every time I go to Shane's I love the experience. If you want a good burger I definitely...
Read moreWe’ve always had excellent customer service and excellent food at Shane’s in Cartersville. Today we went and it was HORRIBLE!!! It took over 25 minutes and our order was packed to go???? We were eating inside. Our order was completely wrong and they gave us burnt sweet potato fries. We didn’t order them but what we did order, they did not even cook. We had to wait another 20 minutes for them to cook our order. Again, they served us in to go boxes. Our order consisted of a gallon of tea, and the manager said we have no gallon jugs so we can give you two large cups of tea. We said absolutely not so he went to Chili’s and borrowed their gallon container. They also closed the restrooms while we were still in the restaurant. We ordered Mac n cheese and was told they were out. No apologies just nope not today. We ran out. Another customer ordered a gallon of unsweetened tea and they had just emptied it before they closed. He ask them to make him some more. The manager was definitely not happy and his attitude was affecting the other employees. We finally just left as he NEVER came out and apologized for all the mishaps. I give him a...
