This is the only place you EVER need to go to if you want a donut. I’ve been going here for a few years now and it’s such an incredible spot. The service is great and the donuts are always fresh and delicious, to the point that they WILL SELL OUT. Be sure to go before noon on the weekends if you can, just for more variety due to the selling out, but honestly, I’ve had so many different types of donuts here and never had a negative thing to say about a single one. Each donut here is flawless. Flawless. Get the apple fritter though if they have them, you won’t regret it. They do restock the donuts a couple times throughout the morning, because they bake and sell, so there’s a chance that if you show up and they don’t have what you’re looking for, just ask and they may be working on some if you wait a bit.

This place is AMAZING. The donuts are so fluffy that it's like eating a cloud. The regular staff there on weekday mornings are incredibly fast and efficient. I can order 2 dozen donuts and have them packed in boxes, be rung up, and out the door in under 5 minutes. I've never had faster service at a donut place in my life. Best of all, their prices are fantastic! WAY more affordable than any of the big donut chain stores. 2 dozen donuts cost me $32 (before tip) today. I couldn't get grocery store donuts that cheap! They smell so good that I often have people asking where I got them before they've even taken a bite. 5 out of 5 stars! I hope they stay in business for many more years to come!

I've tried some of the more "fancier" donut options raleigh has to offer over the past year and let me say, these are some of the best tasting donuts I've ever tried anywhere. So many shops use too much oil or the dough is too thick etc.. But these are so perfect. Both styles are great, the regular glazed is so soft and fluffy and the cake ones are very soft and moist as well. Can't go wrong with any choices here. The only thing I haven't tried are the fritters but I imagine those are probably incredible as well. Not to mention if you buy a dozen you get a 13th one for free. It was like 14 bucks which is awesome. I'll def be going back!

Bakers Dozen:

On my third visit to Bakers Dozen, I've come to realize that consistency in pricing isn’t their strongest suit. Each of my visits has resulted in a different charge for essentially the same selection of donuts. Initially, I assumed perhaps a specialty order had bumped up the price, but my second purchase, a dozen donuts, came at a lesser cost, which I attributed to a bulk discount. Fast forward to today, expecting to leverage the same discount for another dozen, I was surprised to be charged at the standard rate despite choosing regular donuts at what I believed was a discounted dozen price.

Upon reflection, I’ve noticed a pattern tied to who serves me: an "experienced" lady who sticks rigidly to the standard pricing regardless of the dozen deal, and a younger sales associate who applies what I thought was the standard discount for a dozen donuts. It seems the discrepancy in my experiences is down to which employee processes my purchase.

For future visits, I'll be more strategic, ensuring I clarify the "dozen discount" upfront to avoid any misunderstanding. A small side note from a previous experience – the "White cream donuts" had an unexpected garlic aftertaste when consumed the following day. It left me puzzled and slightly wary, as I couldn’t find any explanation for this unusual flavor twist online.

In conclusion, while the donuts from Bakers Dozen satisfy the sweet tooth, the inconsistency in pricing and the peculiar taste experience with the white cream donut have made my visits a bit of a mixed bag. Next time, I'll be sure to specify a "dozen donuts" in hopes of a consistent discount and perhaps stick to flavors that are less likely to surprise me...

I am an outside sales representative and visit customers in 17 states in the North East. When visiting for group meetings, I will often stop and pick up donuts, bagels, or some sort of pastries.

I have bought a lot of donuts in the last 20-years. Whenever possible, I try to find the small, local, mom and pop shop in the area.

Baker's Dozen is THE BEST DONUT SHOP there is, by far. The owner, Sindy and her brother run the shop, they are wonderful people. And, their donuts are always fresh and are the best tasting you will ever have. And, it's not just me that feels this way. I took two dozen donuts to a manufacturing plant and they were devoured. After the meeting, I was walking out to the car and one of the people in the meeting ran out of the building to ask me where I had gotten them.

For those who do not go to donut shops regularly, I have a favor to ask. Baker's Dozen and many donut shops start makiing donuts starting at 5am and make them until the early afternoon. After the morning sales, they sell them until they sell out. Some shops will actually close when they sell out. Baker's Dozen does not close early but, they do run many styles of donuts.

My request is, if you are going to go to Baker's Dozen, go early. Get there at 7am and buy a dozen. I promise you, you won't be disappointed.

If you decide to wait until 3pm on a Sunday afternoon and they don't have a large selection, don't write a critical review. It's just...

False information, never any donuts in stock, been here multiple times just to be greeted by a grumpy worker and an empty case. The experience/most donuts here are comparable to a Little Debbie cake, yet their prices continue to rise. Also stopped going to this place after being lied to. I came in today, Friday, at 6:30 am to get their only good donut, the French Cruller. They informed me they wouldn't be ready until 9am. Okay, that's reasonable until I came back at 9:30 to be told "oh we only serve them on weekends." I've definitely had them on a weekday before, so something isn't adding up, also what changed in 3 hours? Their donut case was once again completely empty, only 2-3 hours after being open. I understand they're freshly made, but it seems like every time I go in this place, there is a VERY limited selection of donuts that have been sitting there, maybe 2 types/flavors, remind you these are the bad flavors nobody wants to eat. And it's not even 10am!!! I'm embarrassed for this place, it's gone downhill a lot over the last year or so. Looking around this shop, anyone can tell these folks run with bare bones. So much potential with so little...
