You're dead to me, MOD. Behold two pizzas, below. Both ordered online for pickup with a note: "Double cheese, please". The first (my pizza) has bare spots. The second (my son's pizza) looks like someone read the note. Now in the past when we've ordered at MOD to either eat in or take out, the person making the pizza has told me that an extra sprinkle of cheese is all they can do because of the "one price fits all" model. If I ask for double cheese, please put twice as much on my pizza and charge me an extra dollar. Or it's possible that two different people made these pizzas, which might explain why they're different. Two different people might have different ideas of what "Double cheese, please" means. The problem with that explanation is that it shouldn't. Matter, that is. MOD portions the cheese with a ladle, so just portion two. So...first world problems. With all that's happening, who really cares right? Well, this is not the first time this has happened. In fact, this seems to happen every other time we order online. In other words, it's consistently disappointing half of the time. Through lockdown, we've continued to order out to maintain some variety and continue to support local businesses when and where we can. So we've eaten a lot of pizza since March. Also, Shackburgers. We greatly appreciate the option, and all the people who continued to work at MOD and elsewhere so that we would have that option. But every other week I get a pizza with bare spots that I can't do anything about because I'm on an hour lunch break and can't take it back, and don't have time to wait for someone to make it again. And I don't want to linger in the lobby or outside in the parking lot while people who think COVID-19 has run its course stumble past me while they wipe their sneeze on their sleeve. No thank you. For now, MOD, you are out of the rotation. UPDATE (20200803): Of course I am not the sole determiner of where we spend our lunch money. My wife also has a vote, and she likes MOD because they offer a gluten-free crust. So I've eaten at MOD a few times since I wrote this review. I have no idea if anyone from MOD pizza read this review or not, but the last few pizzas I've had have all been ordered "Double cheese, please", and have been exactly what I ordered. MOD, you're no longer dead to me.

This cozy pizza place knocks it out of the park. The staff is efficient and helpful. The food is fresh and delicious. AND.....you can add your toppings at no additional charge. They fellows who were working were very amenable and piled our pizzas with scrumptious toppings. They sang along to the 80s rock playing softly in the background and seemed to enjoy their time at work. Ok. Back to the food. Pizza is $10.99 don't forget it includes all your toppings. I added a medium salad, again whichever topping you want. It was a lot of food. In addition THEY HAVE CAULIFLOWER CRUST. This crust is gluten and flour free and it is spectacular. I hope one of these delectable restaurants comes close to where I live. It is worth the drive for delicious, fresh pizza, the way you want it.

I ordered a veggie pizza, specifying **only** vegetarian toppings. Yet, to my complete shock and disgust, the pizza arrived covered in bacon and chicken—both of which I cannot eat due to strict dietary restrictions. This is not just a small mistake; it’s a complete failure in basic attention to detail and respect for customers' needs. It shows a disturbing level of carelessness from Mod Pizza, and frankly, it’s unacceptable. For a company that caters to diverse dietary preferences, this is a huge issue. What if this had been an allergy? This isn't just about a wrong order—it's about neglecting customer health and safety. I expected better, but clearly, Mod Pizza doesn't take these matters seriously.

You're dead to me, MOD.

For it's format, I think Mod Pizza is executed as well as can be expected. Queue up, custom order your pizza and extras, find a table and in about 5 minutes it's all ready. The pizza is really very tasty and you can get anything and everything on it for 1 price. For some reason they do seem to go a little skimpy on some if the toppings. A little more cheese, a few extras pepperoni slices, a dab more sauce would all be welcome but again - it's tasty anyway. Fresh and plentiful salad ingredients are available too and there's even a couple of decent draft beer options. There's a few bottles as well. Interior is clean and comfortable and they have a nice outdoor area. No TVs, but the goal is to move you in and out rather quickly. This is not the place to go to watch the game. Like Moe's they have a policy whereby the employees are obliged to welcome you as you come in the door. I really wish places would not do this; it's so phony and it's probably really tiresome if you're one of the employees. In this case they do it on the way out too. It's a petty complaint and I don't feel it's worthy of dinging a star. If you're in the area and looking for a pizza option that doesn't fancy itself New York style then give this...

Mod is the best!! I am a New Yorker and I have traveled to Italy. Mod pizza is very similar to the pizza I had in Italy. The sauce and dough are excellent. The best part is creating your own personal pizza. I am a total foodie and I give them 5 stars for the quality of food and service. The salads and shakes are awesome as well. The food feels healthy and light, just like in Italy. Mod staff is amazing! Very friendly and fast, good people. They make it a point to great you. They are always very helpful and pleasant. Scott, the manager is a great guy. Dee is always so welcoming and cool to talk to. It is a NYC meets San Francisco vibe. You can have a glass of wine or a beer with your meal as well. The ambience is awesome! Definitely my kind of place. My girls are very picky eaters, tough crowd but they love Mod pizza! Mod is very also very affordable. It is a great place to meet friends with kids for lunch or dinner. It is in a great location, Waverly Place. We eat and continue at the fun on the...
