Chicken Salad Chick — Restaurant in Cary

I don’t live close to this location or the others in the area but I visit Chicken Salad Chick on a monthly basis because I have monthly doctor’s appointments nearby. I always take my sisters here when they visit from Maine. They both love it as much as I do and always ask to go when they’re in the area. Most of the time, I get the two scoops with crackers and the two sides combo that includes the drink I think. I can never finish it so I’m always happy with the leftovers. My go to favorites are always a combination of Classic Carol, Olivia’s Old South and or Buffalo Barclays. It’s got just enough heat but not too much. Of course, I love the little wrapped frosted sugar cookie they include. If I’m not getting a combo, I’ll bring home one or two of the small size tubs in the refrigerator cooler at the front of the store. My husband travels for work a lot so when I bring those home, it’s enough to last four or five days. Also!! Just an FYI, I’m not a huge fan of celery. I like the flavor of it, just not the texture. It’s why I have never been a fan of most chicken salads. Theirs has celery in but I was told by them that it’s so finely pulverized (almost) that no one ever notices it… which for me, is a good thing. Their sides are also great. My favorite are the macaroni and cheese, pimento cheese and their grape salad (sooo good!!) This place is perfect.. take in or eat in and it’s a perfect spot to bring ppl to that don’t have anything like that where they’re from or a girls lunch out. This review may be slightly biased just because I come here AT LEAST 3x a week, but I have never had a bad experience. The food is ALWAYS fresh and delicious, and the staff is SO kind and caring always. If you are dining in, the employees are quick to take orders and move the line along, bringing your food out to you quickly. The manager and owners of this place are also so kind, as they will walk the restaurant and greet you, offering to take your trash, get you anything you need, and make sure you are enjoying your meal. Also, their rewards program is SO nice, and you do not have to spend hundreds of dollars to get something for free. Literally 2 orders and you have enough points to get something on the rewards list. The ambiance is also amazing! Such a cute environment, always clean. Did I mention their sweet tea is the best around?? One more thing, YOU GET SO MUCH BANG FOR YOUR BUCK. My wife and I had the pleasure to be greeted by one of the owners of Chicken Salad Chick. What a great experience. He was gracious to walk us through the menu.

The selections my Wife and I choose were all incredibly good. The bacon potato soup was especially welcome on this rainy cold night. The Classuc Carol's Chicken Salad on croissant with a side of egg salad.

While eating the Co-Owner John S. came over to the table to check on us. We prodded for additional information about this great concept that is so simple it is genius. I find a lot of restaurants missing the mark by being so specialized in being different they miss their grassroots. Going back to basics. John shared that they have been open for 13 weeks now and he says they have been very pleased with their success so far (in the middle of a pandemic). John also shared the history behind the creation of Chicken Salad Chick. Was a very inspirational story. Ask John about it when you come to visit...

All I can say...and said it to my Wife this is a keeper that we will plan on frequent visits quit often.
