I went into shake shack to order a single black & white shake. It took over a 20 minute wait just to get that one shake. This shake was melted warm, and was the wrong flavor.
As someone that worked in the food service industry, it seemed like the dinner rush, and I can empathize, this wait time isn't the basis for my low review.
If you decide to order a shake, stand near the front counter to the left of the shelf they use to place takeout orders. They have an individual focused solely on making shakes.
This person makes many of them quickly, and efficiently. Where he places the on a metal shelf. This metal shelf is behind the employee and frustratingly easy to see, because in retrospect I got to spend my 20 minutes watching my shake that I spent $6 on.. melt in the direct sunlight.
As the shakes pile on on that shelf other employees will come to the shelf to complete orders, grabbing complete shakes. Decent system, but none of the drinks are labeled. When other employees come to grab the shakes you can see them peering inside, tipping them back and forth, carrying them around the kitchen and asking other employees "Hey what is this?" Where 2-3 people try to guess the flavor.
This occurred with the shake that was given to me, and many other drinks. They sit for so long unlabeled, and on a busy day that is a lot of drinks to pick through on that shelf! The employee that handed me my shake I could hear ask several different employees what the drink even was.
It definitely wasn't a black, and white. It was pure chocolate, and it was nearly lukewarm from sitting on the shelf for so long, at the time of the day in direct sunlight through the glass.
I didn't want to be a Karen complaining about the wrong flavor during dinner hours, I like chocolate anyway so I let it be.
Constructive feedback for the future.
Have your shake making person label the shakes as they are made. It will cut down on a lot of confusion I saw in the kitchen, this guessing game is slowing down other workers.
I've been to other shake shack locations, and they have a dedicated customer line/register just for shake orders. I would consider this especially in the warmer months I can imagine there is a lot of foot traffic with that shopping center.
Overall an extremely frustrating experience, I hope it gets better because their shakes when not warm, and the right...
Read moreI find myself not particularly fond of Shake Shack, primarily due to the high levels of saturated fat present in their offerings, despite their commitment to using premium Angus beef. While they proudly promote their use of 100% all-natural ingredients, the substantial fat content in popular menu items like the ShackBurger and Shack Stack can be a significant concern for individuals who are vigilant about their dietary fat intake.
Moreover, my relationship with Shake Shack has been somewhat influenced by my domestic circumstances. My wife, who unfortunately lacks culinary skills, frequently resorts to takeout for our children. Consequently, when I’m swamped with work or simply don’t feel like preparing a meal, I often find myself consuming leftovers from these takeout meals, driven by a desire to avoid wasting money. In an effort to counterbalance the indulgent meals, I try to incorporate more physical activity into my routine, such as kettlebell swings, to help burn off some of those extra calories.
In comparison to Shake Shack, I perceive Panera Bread as a slightly healthier alternative. Their focus on fresh ingredients and wholesome options appeals to me more than the heavy, greasy fare at fast-food establishments. However, it’s worth noting that even at seemingly healthier places, one cannot be entirely certain of the quality of ingredients being used — whether it be questionable additives, outdated frying oils, or even hygiene practices in food preparation. This uncertainty underscores a broader truth: the most satisfying and genuinely delicious meals often come from home-cooked dishes where you have complete control over the ingredients and cooking methods.
Ultimately, while Shake Shack has its merits, particularly in terms of flavor and quality meat, my preference leans towards establishments that prioritize health and transparency in their food offerings. After all, nothing quite compares to the comfort and satisfaction of a meal prepared with care in your...
Read moreI’m surprised I haven’t reviewed this location because we’ve picked up food twice and loved it. Today was our first dine in experience, so let’s get this on the books! We got there around 12:30 and got in the cattle line. Don’t be discouraged, it moves really fast. We ordered a lot of food, some to eat there and some to take home. We figure if we travel out of our way to get food, we also need some for the freezer. Plan ahead, that’s our motto! Shack Burgers come with American cheese, lettuce, tomato and their Shack Sauce. Hubs got the double and I got the single. We both got crinkle fries and I wanted to try the 6 piece chicken bites with house made Ranch. Now the details…. The burgers are similar to FiveGuys but Shake Shack’s have more flavor. The bun is buttered, grilled and still soft. I prefer iceberg to leaf lettuce but I still get it “as is” because the lettuce and tomato is a nice compliment to the rich juicy burger. The chicken bites were chunks of white meat chicken - not pressed or formed. The breading was almost like a beer batter with fantastic seasoning. They have hit the salty bliss point for me! I would definitely order them again and again. They were so good, I didn’t use the ranch, but don’t worry, I used it on my fries. Ahhh the fries… these are extra crinkly which means more crunch per crinkle. Seriously, look at the picture, these aren’t crinkle fries, they are CRINKLE fries. The ranch dressing was really thick with a nice sour cream flavor. Our to go order consisted of four Double Shacks and since they were going into our freezer, we got them without lettuce or tomato and we asked for the sauce on the side. Perfect! The staff is friendly, efficient and wearing masks. The bathrooms were very clean and the health rating is 100! So load up your cooler, ice packs and make the drive. They have a lot of seating inside and a...
