Update Below I don't often leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience to help others avoid the frustration I went through. I brought my loose diamond and semi-mount ring to this jeweler to have the stone professionally set. I was told over the phone that the service would take about a week and a half. When I arrived, I was quoted $150 and given a two-week timeline.
Unfortunately, I received no updates during the process and had to follow up myself after two weeks, only to be told it would take a few more days. In the end, it took about three weeks to get the ring back.
When I picked it up, I was extremely disappointed and a little shocked. The ring was scratched, unpolished, and even had gold dust still on it from filing the prongs. Most importantly, the prongs were crooked, overly long, and covered the flat part of the diamond—which any reputable jeweler would know not to do. The diamond was also visibly crooked in the setting.
I went back to express my concerns, even showed them an example from their own store of what I was expecting, and they agreed to redo it just like the other ring I showed. Again, I was quoted two weeks. And again, it took over three.
The second time around, the ring was cleaned and polished, but the prongs were still uneven, poorly shaped, and unrefined. Only one is remotely pointy (what I asked for)—the rest look like the metal is crumbled or are evenly filed. The stone is still not sitting evenly, and when I pointed this out, I was told that my diamond is cut unevenly and that’s why it looks off—something I find very hard to believe, especially since it was certified and previously unset. He jokingly asked how I even “notice” things like that, which felt incredibly dismissive. The ring doesn't look horrible from afar like it did the first time, but I am worried about how it will wear.
Unfortunately, now I have to find another jeweler to reset the stone properly, likely re-tip the prongs, add more gold—and pay more just to fix what should have been done right the first time. And if there really was an issue with the setting or the diamond, I would’ve appreciated a phone call to discuss it, not just a subpar job handed off like it was acceptable.
What makes this more frustrating is that I chose this store because I thought it was a local, family-owned shop, and I wanted to support small business rather than going to a big box jeweler. I truly expected better craftsmanship and service from a place that presents itself as local.
If you're buying gold or pre-made pieces, this shop may be fine as they have beautiful gold pieces. But if you need custom work, repairs, or anything that requires skill and care, please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. I spent time, money, and energy only to be left disappointed.
I’ve included some pictures below. The first 2 are from the first round of setting. The rest are what the ring looks like now.
UPDATE
The day after I posted this review, I got a call from Yasini asking me to come in and give them another try. I appreciated the outreach and dropped off the ring again that same day (or the day after).
When I came to pick it up, I believe Ahmad was out so Omar (I believe he may be a manager/owner) recognized me and personally brought the ring out. I was still unhappy with the result—it looked almost exactly the same—and I showed him the exact in-store ring I had shown Ahmad previously to explain the look I was going for (simple claw prongs, nothing fancy). This time, Omar took the time to sketch out the prongs, made detailed notes, and even said he would FaceTime the bench jeweler to explain everything.
It wasn’t until the fifth and final attempt that the ring finally came back close to what I had originally asked for. The result is better than all the previous tries, and I do appreciate that effort—but been a far from perfect experience. Something I was initially told would take 2 weeks ended up taking almost 12 weeks. I’ve also included pictures below of...

I recently visited this store with the intention of purchasing a 1-ounce gold bar.
At the beginning of the conversation, I was clearly told the current price was 3,188 Pesos, which I confirmed and agreed to. I asked a few general questions about resale and policy—nothing unusual or time-consuming.
When I then said, “Okay, give me the gold bar,” I was suddenly informed that the price had already changed within a matter of minutes—literally 2–3 minutes after the initial quote. They insisted on charging me a new, higher price.
Despite my frustration, I ended up paying the higher price and purchasing the gold bar. While I did receive the product, I left the store very disappointed. The experience did not feel transparent or professional, especially considering the time and distance I invested to get there based on the price they had initially given me.
I am sharing this review to highlight the importance of consistency and clear communication when dealing with customers—especially when it comes to valuable items like gold. I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for...
