This was my first visit to Kai. I was visiting Florida and wanted to try some local restaurants. The kimchi was delicious. Sometimes when you order it in restaurants, it is warm. This was cool but not too cold. The flavor was spicy but not overwhelming...perfect! The spicy soy garlic wings had a hint of spicy. The batter on the wings was light and crunchy, but not crumbly. They were fried to perfection. Oddly after the wings had cooled down on the outside, when you bit into them there was steam coming out, but yet it was not hot. The habanero wings were SPICY! They were especially spicy while they were hot (or maybe I had adjusted to the heat by the time the cooled off). They were saucy (be sure to have a wet nap handy. I'm not sure if they have them there, I used one I already had). The plain noodles were cooked in a most flavorful oil with garlic and scallions. Though I enjoyed all of the dishes, this one was my favorite. Note: it is listed as a side dish but this is more like an entre. I thouroughly enjoyed my meal, as did my cousin. I will definitely make this a stop on my next visit!!

I stopped in here with my son for lunch the other day as it's been on my list to checkout and we were pleasantly surprised. We started off with some spicy tang flavored wings. They have several flavors to choose from and we went with spicy. The spice level is very very low, was a little disappointed at the heat level but the crispy outside and well cooked and juicy inside was very delicious. He had the beef noodle soup, which is not like Pho but the broth reminded us of a traditional Thai soup from Isaan province, it was super good. I went with the spicy tonkatsu ramen. My order took a long time to come out but I don't think that's normal so won't hold that against them. The noodles were ever so slightly undercooked and again a bit disappointed on the heat level of the spicy version. I think restaurants in Orlando are not aware that we can tolerate and enjoy higher heat levels. Don't hold back! Definitely check it out if you are in the area, will definitely visit again!

As natives of Miami and frequent visitors to Orlando for mini-staycations my girlfriend and I are always excited to try new restaurants specifically Asian. I found Kai through google and I’m so glad I did. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated in its simplicity. This can easily be a date night place while at the same time being a place that could be frequented every other week. The service was excellent with the servers being warm and attentive. The ramen was absolutely delicious and is a must try along with the crispy chicken wings (we had the soy garlic flavor) that have a satisfying crunch. The drunken noodles reminded me of Chinese restaurants back in California with the rice noodles being juicy in its sauce and generous portions of mouth watering chicken and shrimp. All in all I highly recommend this place and I hope this business continues to grow and thrive. Don’t hesitate and try it out!

So I'm going to change my previous review which was 5 stars. I have eaten from here at least 10 times and have told other people how delicious the food is. However i need to order carry out. The first few times the food was great and the service. But at first i was not aware that they close at 3 before reopening for dinner. I ordered at 2:50 and when i picked my order up they added if i would prefer order earlier. So the next time i was ready to order lunch it was again 2:45 so i figured I'd wait until dinner. I called at 5 and asked if i could prefe something off of the lunch menu and was told no. I said thank you and ordered food somewhere else. Now tonight i called and asked if they had any specials, i was told specials are dine in only. Again i said thank you and hung up. So this is 3 bad experiences in a row. I'm honestly not sure i will even yet returning. In respect that you they have a small menu, better to do a few things great than a lot mediocre. But you provide not just food but also a service. When i go to pay my carry ito order the screen and if I'd like to leave a20% or 25% tip and very small it says other. Do. So if you expect a tip you do realize that you provide a service. You are here for the customer or guest. I am not there for you. If you do not provide the service people like myself will not return, no matter how good the food. I respectfully request that you reevaluate these policies and out yourself in your guest shoes. Are you so busy that you can turn away business? And i hate leaving a critical review because the food is good. It's just a shame that the customer is not first. There is so old saying: the answer is yes, what's the question? It really says everything about taking care...

My most recent experience has turned me off from Kai completely, due to a combination of rude service and inconsistent food quality over a period of weeks.

The man working the front, Dean, was really standoffish, cold and made me feel as if it were a bother to actually do his job. He can be like that if he wants, but I’m not returning anywhere I don’t feel wanted and where I have to deal with moody people.

The food itself was amazing… this time around. I’d gotten Kai every other week for a bit now, due to loving the food and how close it was, but there’s no consistency with the quality. Sometimes, you get food that tastes the same as last time (great), or sometimes you get bland and overly greasy noodles and under seasoned (if seasoned at all) chicken, or a side dish that is made with too much of an over powering ingredient or too little. The teas don’t always taste the same and my most recent order of the tea, tasted “flat” and bland. It tasted nothing at all like the tea I’d gotten my first time.

All in all, the food can be great when they stick to their recipes. However, the backbone of a restaurant is its service and due to the experience I had, I won’t be returning. Life is far too short to willingly deal with negative people or situations.

Thanks for the...

Did I go to same Kai that everyone else is raving about??? I'm still scratching my head and wondering if I've been rick rolled. To start off, the bathroom looked like it hadn't been touched in a while (said a small prayer to the noodle man in the sky that I don't get sick while eating there). Next, the food was NOTHING like the pics seen on google review. We ordered drunken noodles, katsu lo mein, chili soy wonton + drinks. The food was plated in such a way that it looked like it came from a mediocre home chef, the portion size was laughable (again NOTHING like what is pictured) and served on sad, worn the f out ikea plates. To be fair, the katsu did taste good and was piping hot, however, the drunken noodles looked like gross 'yesterdays' food with some sections were luke-warm, while other sections were flat out cold. I heard a microwave being used and the classic ''beep, beep, beep'' blaring in the back and OUT came my appetizer. No doubt in my mind they microwaved the wontons - the texture was gummy and too chewy, not fresh for sure. Oh, and the "service" there was non-existent. We weren't checked on... not even once. No "how's everything?'' or "need a refill?". We had to flag the kid to get our check. The whole...
