This was an absolutely gorgeous dining experience that I've been anticipating. Pleasantly pleased with every facet. The strip-mall space is easy to access with plenty of parking and a quaint bit of seating indoors and on the patio. The young man who welcomed and served us was inviting and hospitable and saw to us gracefully and thoroughly without it feeling looming, even though we were one of only two tables mid-afternoon. The environment was nice and clean, and we still felt comfortable in street clothes. The compote drink was perfect. I keep thinking about it when I'm doing yard work on hot Texas days. The piroshki was notable. I butchered pronunciations, and not an eye was batted, so don't pass up this experience because you're afraid to mispronounce the names of the food. Any good ol' Texas boy or gal could find something to love here! These people seem passionate and happy to help anyone who wants to learn. My dining companion ate borscht that was, reportedly, excellent. I lapped up the vareniki. Amazing, as were the pancakes. Lamb dumplings to-go for my son, and he was similarly happy. We wanted to try so many options, more than we needed with left-overs to-go, and still only left with a $70ish base ticket. I'd return for lunch any day and even travel out of the way for it. Read moreThe restaurant was clean and pleasant with nice instrumental music . It took a minute for someone to come to the counter but they took our order quickly . We ordered traditional dumplings opted for the mixed variety of fillings : chicken , lamb and veal in chicken broth and made with real butter and sour cream to make it that much more rich . It was a simple dish but so full of flavor ! It reminded me of a tortellini soup with the small dumplings , not like a larger dumpling that I was expecting . My Husband had the favorite Borscht and the chicken, cheese, cilantro Perogies . These were also surprising as they were deep fried and delicious ! The light crisp outer layer was met with warm slightly gooey melty cheese center to create a satisfying bite every time ! Unfortunately they were out of the Napoleon Dessert , so we’ll have to try that next time . We will...
Read moreThis was our first time trying European food, so we were intrigued an excited. Note that you have to order at the counter, which I'm not used to for a dine in restaurant, but that's not a big deal. The menu is short and sweet, but the prices aren't too kind. We tried the chicken skewer, lamb dumplings, and empanadas. Everything was great! The skewer was moist and had a great smoky flavor from the grill. The empanadas were hot and fresh with a flakey crust. They did lack meat filling which is my biggest critique. Some places you will be paying for quality over quantity and this is one of them. The lamb dumplings were tasty as well. Overall, everything was fresh, hot and delicious. Once again, the prices are a bit steep but I can vouch and say that it is overall worth it in my opinion. I will be happy to return in the...
