I'm under the impression that everyone is new or doesn't care. I have come across maybe 2 employees that seem to have a genuine attitude and knowledge of what they are doing.
I was super excited when I found out there was a Caribou by my new work location as I think they are one of the best. I've also worked there, so I know how this works. Not trying to knit pick, but wow, it was awful...and embarrasing.
I've been there 3 times in a week and a half and each time was a struggle. The first time wasn't too bad, just took a bit longer than it should have and the guy had no clue how to make it. But, he found the cheat sheet and made a darn good drink. Side note: I'm also a bit annoyed that when I order a HoHo Mint Mocha, I have to tell them how to top it. I get the chocolate and whip part, but the peppermint on top? Great job, corporate for making that one annoying.
And the visits just got worse. 2nd time, I waited up front for a while with no one up front. I finally had to call their phone number to tell them I was up front! No apology, the girl just kind of mumbled something.
3rd visit: I had to make the sad decision that I won't be going back. The guy that took my order had no clue what he was doing. I ordered a bagel with smear with this coffee order and all hell broke loose. He asked me several times what smear and he still rang it up wrong. I had to let the guy know behind the counter. He also didn't understand the choices for chocolate for the drink. He talked to someone and came back and told me what I chose was the standard. Ummm, unless Caribou has lowered it's standards, it's always been 3 choices! Heck, they have FOUR different whipped creams, so....he ended up adding the note see me on the drink and I had to explain to the barista my simple drink order again. When I got the drink the lid was oozing with whipped cream and it looked like the mouth part had been wiped. I didn't trust this and asked for a new lid. And that bagel I got looks like a dinner roll. Half the size of a normal bagel and it lacks the hole that makes it a bagel. There was no one in line when I got there and it took 10 minutes from start to finish. I'm so disappointed as the drinks have all been spot on, but the...
Read moreThey really need to get their act together. It may sound like an embellishment, but they actually have messed up my order every single time I have been there.
We are HUGE caribou coffee fans and were excited to find out that Castle Rock was finally getting a location because it would allow me to grab a coffee on the way to work without detouring off of 25 to hit the Lincoln location, or from having to settle for rival coffee shops on my route.
From day one they would make the coffees 25% or more foam, essentially making my large a medium, my medium a small, and my small a shot. Order a campfire mocha? Get a turtle mocha. Berry white mocha for my wife? After taste of spices, huh (confused by this one)? OK, growing pains of learning the coffee business. However, they consistently get sandwich orders wrong too. On three occasions I have stayed in the drive-thru because I was given the wrong sandwiches and/or coffees. No bacon on the egg & cheese? Comes with bacon, luckily I wasn't charged. Don't toast the Asiago bagel with plain shmear? Sigh.... toasted!
At this point, we expect our orders to be wrong and check/plan accordingly. It pains me to give my Caribou such a low rating, but my honest hope is that this will encourage them to get better. The only reason they get a 2 star rating is because I know what Caribou can/should be. If this were anywhere else, they wouldn't have gotten so many chances and this review would 1 angry star.

Literally sat, as the only car, at the drive through window for 8 minutes before driving away. No one came to the window to take my money, ask me to wait, or bring me the one coffee I ordered. At this point it doesn't surprise me , but it's does still frustrate me that they can't get their...
Read moreI went through the drive through yesterday afternoon. I ordered a garden egg white and ham sandwich on an Asiago bagel (with a regular sliced bagel, not thin like they usually do it) and a large iced coffee. There was a car in front of me who placed their order and pulled up to the pick up window. They waited for approximately 5 minutes before the passenger of the vehicle got out of the car to go to the store and see what was going on, because they clearly had not been acknowledged yet. FINALLY... after another 2 minute wait, they got their food. Then I pull up to the window. I could see my iced coffee sitting right inside the window with no server to be found. I waited... for 6 minutes until I almost drove away and went to firehouse subs instead (I should have went there to begin with). As I was putting my truck in drive, someone came to the window and I scoffed and said I was about to leave because that was a ridiculous wait time to even be acknowledged. He said "sorry" and that he was helping someone at the front. I paid full price for my sandwich and coffee, and was given a blueberry muffin (which I am allergic to blueberries) as a consolation. I can't believe that this store still survives if it is being ran this way. I will never go back. My sandwich was cold, and the bagel was sliced thin - which I had specifically asked for it NOT to be. It was such a terrible experience. I wasted nearly 15 minutes in a drive thru when I could have gone next door to Firehouse, got a hot, better tasting sandwich, for less money... And even though they don't have a drive thru, i'm positive I would have been in and out quicker than I was at Einsteins. I'm just so disappointed. It was a...
