I don’t usually write many review’s, but I felt like I needed to with this place. We are new to the CastleRock area and wanted to try someplace new for lunch. We looked at a few location’s, and this place popped up with some decent review’s, so we thought we’d give it a try. When we came in, the place is in a nice location, the atmosphere was decent, and seemed inviting. We were sat promptly, and our beverage’s were brought pretty quickly as well. On their menu, they have Shrimp Ceviche as an appetizer, and we thought that we’d give that a try. It came out to us and upon first glance you can see that it isn’t by any stretch a “traditional ceviche,” it looks like a bunch of tiny frozen shrimp piled on top of a restaurant style pico de gallo, and when tasting it, it tasted like it was drowned in a pool of lime juice. We had a few bites (mainly ate the chip’s), and waited for our meal to arrive. I ordered “The Secretary” med-rare with fries, and my lady ordered a sweet chicken chilli sandwich. When our order’s came, they both looked a little drab, and on both you could notice in the corner’s of the plate’s, a pool of grease. I took a bite, and had immediately noticed that the burger was over cooked, there was not all of the ingredient’s that it listed that came with it, and the entire bun was sopping with grease and was mushy. My lady had taken a bite of hers and she was met with basically the same issue. I had addressed with the server that I would pay for the fries, because we did eat those, but that we didn’t want any further food to be remade, and if we could please get the check. She did take my meal off, but left everything else on the check, even though 95% of everything that we ordered, we did not eat because it was not good and almost inedible. Maybe we came on a bad day, but we are both feeling a little nauseous, and other than possibly coming in for a drink, I don’t think that we will come back to this establishment. If you decide to come here, I hope that your experience is better than...
Read moreThis was our first visit to The Library and it did not disappoint! We drove down from Parker and it was about 30 minutes. We walked in and were immediately greeted by a cheerful and nice hostess. I came in my wheelchair and she was great about asking questions so that we were seated at a table that was comfortable for me. After being seated she asked how our day was and if we had special plans. We explained we were there to celebrate my husband's birthday. She immediately got excited and wished him a happy birthday. Our waiter came pretty quickly and the first thing he did was wish my husband a happy birthday! When we said it was our first visit he walked us through the menu starting with the drinks. He kindly gave us a few moments to look through the menu and when I asked if a particular substitution could happen he said absolutely! When we were finished with our AMAZING food we ordered the cheesecake for dessert. When it came time to pay I noticed the cheesecake was not on the bill. I asked our waiter about it. He said he knew and that it was a birthday treat on them!! That was SO SWEET!! Not expected at all but so appreciated!! The ONLY reason I gave The Library 4 stars is because my husband received his hot sandwich first and then it took another 5 minutes before my dish came out. By the time mine arrived, my husband's sandwich was lukewarm because he waited to eat with me. I'm not sure who misjudged the timing but I think that needs to be worked on. Especially if everyone's food at the table should be eaten hot. If it wasn't for that timing issue, The Library Co and Kitchen would have...
Read moreWent here looking for some burgers for a nice and quick family lunch. Ordered 2 medium rare burgers and 2 medium burgers. All 4 burgers came out well done. We sent two burgers back and the one burger came back well done again. The other burger never came back. The manager was then requested and he personally took the burger back to grill himself and we watched as he handled the food in the kitchen, WITHOUT GLOVES! The burger then came back in a to go container, WELL DONE AGAIN. The manager then went to grab the burger with his bare hands and re-cut the burger, offering to bring us back in the kitchen to look at it under better light. The burger had NO pink and the server agreed with us. We then had to request our fourth burger be brought out to go. We had an infant with us and had been there over an hour at this point. The burger came out on a plate, without the side and the burger was rare. The manager began to tell us we won’t be charged for two of the burgers and we couldn’t believe after all the aggravation, errors and the fact no gloves were used that we had a bill at all. The manager then began clearing the table arguing with us, tell us “if that’s what you think then fine.” He walked away and left us jaws dropped. We then had to request a to go container for the rare burger and put some extra fries in with it where we found a black hair on our plate. None of us have black hair. This place should be closed! Awful food, awful...
