Romo’s Street Tacos is a fairly new dining venue in Castle Rock. Food is ordered at a walk-up counter and brought to the table by employees. Menu items are authentic Mexican, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and they use fresh ingredients obtained locally whenever possible. All preparation is done in house. Customers pick their meat from a variety of choices, including chicken, asada and carnitas to name a few. We had chicken nachos, 3 chicken tacos, and chicken quesadillas with green medium salsa. Other made-in-house salsas included Pico De Gallo and hot red salsa. All are delicious. The restaurant has water and a variety of non-alcoholic drinks. There is limited seating inside, but additional tables outside (preferred my many) provide more than ample seating. The food was served in reasonable amount of time, was temperate, and smelled really good. Taste was not disappointing. In fact, it was downright mouth-watering exceptional. Everyone in our party raved about their selections. This is a place we definitely will go back to – soon! The owners obviously have high expectations of employee performance. They employ several high school students. I observed that every single one of them were highly respectful, helpful, and all seemed to really like their jobs. I asked one teen how he liked working at Romo’s and he emphatically said, “I love it!” If you check out Romo’s you will get excellent food, great service by people who garner enjoyment in assuring an enjoyable dining experience, and you’ll support young people building a strong work ethic and learning to exercise job efficiency. I for one am a...
Read moreI'm not sure if hipsters are going here and rating it 5 stars because they think it's a unique hole-in-the-wall place most people haven't heard of, but the food is not that impressive. I have tried a ton of Mexican restaurants in Colorado and this place serves average, overpriced Mexican food. Guadalajara and La Loma are restaurants around the area with much better food that open the same time as here (this place says "open 10am" but I've gone there at 10am and they don't even open until 11).
I will admit, the steak quesadilla was different from others I have had but it was just ok. The steak wasn't dry like a lot of restaurants make it which is a plus but it had a lot of extra wetness. It was almost like birria and had a weird taste (almost too rich). It wasn't horrific but was not my cup of tea. It was also $15 and came with the cheap generic green salsa. Very overpriced for what they are serving.
The chips were really good although it's hard to screw that up as they just deep fry tortillas. The guac was less impressive although it was decent with a slightly sweet taste, but I have had much better elsewhere.
The pastor tacorito wasn't bad but didn't stand out much either; had a nice seasoning to it though. The carne asada tacorito was a little dry and chewy. The carnitas was decent but I have had way better. To be honest, the tacoritos were pretty lame and disappointing. They screwed my order up and gave me regular tacos, then when I told them they still put a sad amount of cheese between the tortillas. Chips + Guac & 3...
Read moreParker Rd. Location. To preface this review, we had to stop ourselves from coming here every day initially because we loved it so much. With that being said, we spent over $50 for a burrito, tacos, and an order of enchiladas, this wouldn’t be an issue had our order been right. Spent 10-15 minutes in the drive through after we ordered; with the enchiladas we got three plain tortillas, with rice and beans underneath, no meat. They didn’t even make them. No enchilada sauce, nothing. (Asked for no queso fresco but was still added to the beans underneath, not really a big deal, but would have been nice if it was the chicken I ordered) Ordered shrimp tacos, soggy tortillas fell apart within 5 minutes of getting them home. Last week we ordered a shrimp burrito and beef burrito; we got a beef burrito and one shrimp taco. After tipping 20% on a drive through order, because we were here frequently (no joke 3-4 times a week) they made us pay the difference between the initial order, a burrito, and what was given, a taco, aka exactly what we had already paid for. Nobody behind us in the drive through; less than 4 people in the restaurant when we do go. Similar to another review, they used to be great, I would give them 5 stars normally but over the last couple of months it’s evident that attention to quality and general management, especially, has decreased significantly. Would recommend you try other restaurants in the area as...
