Two friends and I just had an excellent lunch buffet at the newly renovated Indian Delight restaurant and it truly WAS a delight! They had a delicious assortment of dishes offered. Between the three of us, we sampled almost everything and agreed it was all delicious! The quality and flavors of the food were superb. The service was also wonderful. Babu, one of the staff, was very friendly and attentive. And finally, the atmosphere and decor have always been nice—(I love the fancy chairs!), but it’s even nicer now, with some new lovely murals on the wall, and new colored relief lighting. Also, I was told the kitchen and restrooms have been totally renovated—a new restroom was added (2 now). My one friend and I have been frequenting this restaurant for many years. As we were paying the check, he commented to the staff, “it’s so nice to go to a restaurant that gets better & better!” Just to add, the dishes offered at the buffet included chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, lamb vindaloo, saag paneer, vegetable korma, shrimp curry, and vegetable biryani, and vegetable pakoras—along with fresh naan & batura breads, crisp salad, aloo chat, and lentil soup. Everything was so flavorful—-not spicy in hot sense (thank goodness because I don’t tolerate heat well), just full of flavor from the delicious combination of spices! And the sweet creamy rice dessert (can’t think of name!) was a perfect ending! I was so involved in eating, I forgot to take pics of the food! But I did snap a picture when we walked in—l loved the beautiful flower arrangements that adorned the tables to celebrate the renovation—and when we left!

I have to say this place holds a special place in my heart because it was where my love for Indian food began 25 years ago. Back then, it felt like stepping into a whole new world. However, I must admit that during my recent visit, I was pretty disappointed. A friend had warned me, but my nostalgia got the better of me. Unfortunately, the food was the blandest Indian cuisine I have ever tasted, suitable for a child. For instance, I ordered the chicken tikka and specifically asked if there was coriander or mint chutney when I picked it up. I was assured that it was "in the bag," but it was not, though that could have at least improved it slightly. Even the spiced tea I ordered, hoping for authentic Indian chai, was more like spiced black tea, similar to Celestial Seasonings. The raita barely had any vegetables, and the masala seemed straight out of a box. As for the aloo paratha, it was done as a yeast bread, and the filling lacked any notable taste. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, especially considering my fond memories of this place. I'd caution those looking for bold and authentic Indian flavors to seek other options. Perhaps the restaurant could consider this feedback and work on rekindling the magic that initially won over my taste buds all those years ago. Another help would be adding the ability to choose maybe a spice level on outside ordering apps and accurate descriptions so that someone else doesn't think "spiced hot tea" is actual chai.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for 12 years, but my recent experience was incredibly disappointing. They charged us an automatic service gratuity for just two people at the buffet, which is absurd. When I questioned this, the server rudely insisted that the tip was separate. I even have proof with a receipt showing that food was served for just two people. This is something I’ve never encountered before at this place. To make matters worse, we didn’t even finish our food when the server brought out the check. We told him that we were not finished, and he took back the check only to change it to include the automatic gratuity after we asked for it again. They didn’t rotate the food properly, and most of the dishes were empty. It was frustrating to see other customers arriving late and finding no food available. The quality and service have gone downhill, and it’s clear that the management is cutting corners. Such a shame to see a place I once loved become so cheap and poorly managed. Avoid if you can – there are better options out there.

My recent visit to Indian Delight Restaurant was an absolute disaster. I had gone there with a friend for their buffet, and it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The service was abysmal, and an incident involving a staff member left me seething with frustration.

Service (1/5): The service at Indian Delight Restaurant was nothing short of appalling. It was clear that the staff lacked both professionalism and basic customer service skills. The incident that truly ruined our day was when a slim young staff member approached our table and rudely informed me that I could not have more than four pieces of Chicken Tikka from the buffet.

Buffet Experience (1/5): The buffet should be a celebration of diverse flavors and the freedom to enjoy as much as you want, but this was not the case here. Despite paying for the buffet, we were restricted in the number of Chicken Tikka pieces we could have, a fact that completely contradicts the very essence of a buffet. I had come to enjoy a variety of dishes, but this restriction left a bitter taste in my mouth.

Price (2/5): The price for the buffet was reasonable, but it hardly justified the terrible service and the bizarre restrictions on what should have been an all-you-can-eat offering.

Overall Impression: My visit to Indian Delight Restaurant was nothing short of a nightmare. The unprofessional and rude behavior of the staff, coupled with the absurd restriction on the buffet, made it an experience I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I will never set foot in this establishment again, and I strongly advise anyone considering a visit to think twice. The management needs to address these issues urgently if they hope to maintain any reputation in the restaurant industry. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this...

I have come to this place for years but after a nightmare a few months ago I have to share my piece.

Let’s start with the not so serious but still very irritating. I used to get their malai kofta several times a month. Recently, within the last year, they went from giving 4 kofta to 3 and they definitely were being shaped smaller. And my partner noticed that the portion of paneer in his paneer masala was also consistently smaller. FOR MORE MONEY!

Now for the horrible. This restaurant was narrowed down to be the (alleged) definitive place where I got a strain of e.coli that almost KILLED ME. I had to be hospitalized and get blood transfusions. It was one that was deadly enough that the city got alerted and called me! They told me they “absolutely must know what I ate and where it came from.” I started getting hallmark symptoms 3 days after eating at the restaurant, and the health official could confidently say it was that meal as everyone in my household ate the same things as me SANS the restaurant and they were fine.

Do you know how you get infections like this? Poor meat handling and cross contamination of preparing food. I’m well aware that food borne illnesses can happen to anyone, but I have to speak up for others who also got food poisoning after eating here, didn’t put two and two together, and didn’t feel the need saying their piece on google reviews. I have no been back. This restaurant is a shell of what it used to be. I miss it pre COVID but after what happened, I don’t feel safe returning....
