I recently had the pleasure of visiting Dee's Corner, a quaint little restaurant in Lowell, Indiana, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the two most delightful young women who were running the show that day. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel right at home, and it's clear that they genuinely care about their customers.
The menu offers exceptional value, and we were pleasantly surprised at how affordable our meals were. My son opted for a grilled cheese sandwich, and let me tell you—it was fabulous! The cheese was perfectly melted, and the bread was crisped to perfection.
I decided to try the Chicago style Polish and paired it with the lemon rice soup. Both choices exceeded my expectations! The Polish was bursting with flavor, and the lemon rice soup was absolutely phenomenal—definitely a highlight of the meal.
Not to mention, the side of French fries we had were incredibly fresh, fried in clean oil that really enhanced their flavor. It’s those little touches that make a big difference and show how much they care about quality.
What a surprising gem Dee’s Corner is! We could have easily passed it by, but I’m so glad we didn’t. If you’re in the area, you absolutely must try this place. It’s a delightful dining experience that I can’t...
Read moreWent here for the first time last year, ordered some sort of salad with chicken on it from their cooler. The chicken was bad, told the girl at the counter who let the (owner, cook?) know .. that lady came out and tried to tell me the chicken was fine because it was fresh. After tasting a piece of the chicken off of the salad and realizing she was wrong... She grabbed the container of shredded chicken they use for the salad and encouraged me to put my bare hand in, grab some and taste it to assure me it was fresh.. I tried to decline, but she insisted. I have 3 small kids. I assure you my hands are not clean enough to put into a container of chicken that is going to feed multiple people. I don't even care that the chicken was bad, It was the fact that she insisted that I put my dirty bare hand in the container.
On top of that she was very rude to her staff, leaving a weird vibe in the air. It's a small restaurant, customers can hear everything going on between the staff.
Tried to give this place another chance this week, but.. just, no. Crazy prices for simple meals I can...
Read moreI really hate to do this but I really want to be brutally honest. The food is not fantastic. For the price, you get a wimpy amount of meat in a gyro. With every bite, there were chunks of inedible fat. The fries are your basic frozen fries, they needed to be salted. I also ordered the tiropita to try and I can't tell if it was supposed to be warm or not but I received it first and then waited a good 20 minutes for my gyro and fries. The pop is just a can, not a fountain drink. I really wanted to like this place but the prices and the quantity don't do it for me. Athens grill gives you so much more food for lower prices so I'll probably just stick with them. We will give Dee's another go one day when they aren't so crazy busy but for now this is my...
