Cindy Lou's BBQ and Catering — Restaurant in Cedar Falls

Cindy Lou's BBQ is light years behind what it used to be when it was Starbeck's BBQ.

The recipes might be the same, but new ownership is cutting corners.

This restaurant is cramped unlike Starbeck's Waterloo.

This restaurant has flies buzzing around the dining room unlike Starbeck's Waterloo.

This restaurant stopped serving fresh cut fries and went to those nasty, frozen, pre-cut waffle fries unlike Starbeck's Waterloo.

We live just a couple of miles from Cindy Lou's, but will definitely be making the drive to Starbeck's Waterloo.

The fresh cut fries, atmosphere, the people, and food just make Starbeck's Waterloo better than Cindy Lou's.

Starbeck's of Waterloo is worth driving across town or further.

I hope the owner of Starbeck's buys this restaurant back cuz the changes that were made, by the new owner, were not...

The lady at the front taking orders was a bit rude but otherwise everything else was pretty good. Other people had their food served to them, and we didn't but I'm guessing because more people were coming in. I didn't like the fact that she yelled, "Hey Lady, your food is ready," to my mom. That was not professional in my opinion. But otherwise, the atmosphere was cute, food was okay, the cook was hard working and friendly but just customer service needs to do better.

EDIT* well the food did not settle well for me since its now 11:32PM and ended up getting sick. I ordered the Turkey Cesar Salad and thought it was delicious but now my stomach does not agree. i had leftovers to take home and my daughter ate the rest of it and she ended up getting sick as well. so unfortunately i had to change my review due...

The food here was absolutely fantastic!

We got two combos. First one was 1/3 rack of ribs, two orders of brisket with a side of potato salad and fries. Second one was a 1/3 rack of ribs, an order of brisket, and an order of burnt ends with a side of baked beans and green beans with bacon. (..and of course, we both got two cornbread muffins.)

Everything was absolutely delicious! It was exactly what we wanted. The baked beans and the potato salad, which are hit or miss for me at other places, were both incredible! The ribs were fall off the bone perfect, the brisket was fantastic, and the burnt ends were wonderful.

The staff was very helpful and friendly! The decor inside is a treat to look around at as well. For all the food we got, the price was reasonable too.
