Cafe Plato Loco — Restaurant in Cedar Hill

BUG IN TAMALES!!!!! I work in the same shopping center and one of our patients had given us a gift card to this restaurant. The staff decided to get 6 dozen of Tamales to split amongst ourselves and take home for the weekend. Honestly, the first thing I noticed about the tamales were presentation. After unwrapping the Saran Wrap, I noticed lots of grease coming from the tamale wrappings and also the tamale filling(pork/chicken) were coming out of the wrapping. Normally, when I purchase tamales, even from individuals who makes them in their homes and sale them independently, they are wrapped very nicely, tamales are usually same size and presentation just looks really nice. Not greasy and or thrown together. These came from an actual restaurant. I expected better. the presentation immediately turned me off and ruined my appetite. But I thought, ok stop judging and just try it. I cut up some Queso Fresco, put a little sour cream and decided to try it out. Took a couple of bites and as used my fork to cut into the next piece, I clearly saw something black sticking out the inside of the tamale where the pork was. I looked closely and dug it out of the mixture to get a better look and it was a weird looking insect. A BUG! I will be posting the pic with this review. I was disgusted!!! I immediately took the pic and forwarded to all my co workers informing them so they could be aware and cautious as we all took a dozen home. I know things happen but all it takes is once for me. I would originally give this place a 4 star rating. However, today 1/29/2018 I went in with a coupon card that I bought from my little niece which she was selling for a fundraiser for the school. The card has a number of different buisnesses that help the school raise money through this card. Some of them buisnesses are cicis, fuzzy's, and many more. El Plato Loco is one of this Buisnesses in this card with an offer of Buying 1 entree and 2 drinks you get a second entree of up to $8 for free. So this is the offer which I tried to redeem through the card and to my surprise the Manager of the place refused to live up to. So I told her that I will only be taking my entree and nothing else. What bothers me is not that I couldn't redeem the coupon, But the fact that they as a business are committing to help their community and schools through this offers and not living up to them. That is why I gave this place a low review because they want to appear to help the community and schools but really are not. I think that is the worst thing a business can do to...

If I could give this review a zero I would I first had went in and everything was oo they gave me a taco salad the meat was horrible so I asked to give it back and they told me that they can't take it back unless there is something wrong with it mind you before I sat down I asked what their return policy on food she said you are able to return food. So I sat down then after the waitress tells me to my face that she is not gonna charge me for that salad so I get something else come check out time when I tell the same waitress that she charged me for the salad she said that I would be able to take it off at the front I'm talking to the lady at the front they say they can't do that so I ask to speak to a manager they say there not there so they are trying to charge me 50 dollars for I'm on a college fixed income so I knew how much I could go there and spend and so I ask to speak to the owner she looks at me and tell her employee that she won't talk to me and that I either pay or she call the cops they are horrible and deserve to be put out...
