I've been wanting to try this place out for months, and yesterday it happened! I have celiac, so I needed my food gluten free. The lady that took my order was familiar with gluten free and was confidently able to tell me what I could have. Fortunately, a lot of Indian cuisine is already gluten free, so I had many options. I love trying new food, so this is very exciting to me. They did have other foods, but it's Curry Pizza House, so I only looked at the craft curry pizzas. They have a gluten free pizza crust, and it is visibly different than the regular crust, so I didn't worry about accidentally getting the wrong crust. Unsurprisingly, there was only 1 size for the gluten free crust. I got the Achari Gobhi pizza and added tandoori chicken, and a mango lassi because of course! My friend got the butter chicken pizza. It took a little while, but we weren't in a hurry. I was enjoying the music videos playing on the big TV. It was pretty empty being lunchtime on a Saturday, but I'm guessing this place gets a good amount of to go orders. There were at least a couple of people that came in to pick up orders while we were waiting for our food. I didn't notice after our food came... It was so good! The flavors were just wow, and the crust was strong enough to hold the generous amount of toppings. So many toppings! It's one of the few times I've eaten pizza out and didn't feel like they were being stingy with toppings. The cilantro was surprisingly effective as a flavor enhancer, and the onions added a crunchiness that made my mouth happy. There was a little bit of kick, and my nose ran a bit, but it wasn't really that spicy. I also have not experienced a gluten reaction, so it's definitely on my list of places to come back to. I'll probably come back many times, there's so many...
Read moreHonestly sometimes i don't always put 5 stars because i worry others will claim or worry that somehow it makes the review not real. well, i'm real, this review is 100% real. so lets get to it, hands down Curry Pizza House is a leader and innovator when it comes to beautiful Indian cuisine (my favorite food on the planet and just simply being original with their dishes) and none other than merging it with the staple of all staples when it comes to household foods such as, PIZZA. not only is the food amazing just because of combing two amazing worlds together but every flavor that should be there, WAS THERE (too delicious. you wont know until you try). everything was authentic as could be and this meal left me on cloud 9. the curry chicken masala was curry chicken masala in every way and they did not miss. the same goes for the butter chicken pizza. my girlfriend and i got two to try multiple items, not to mention their top tier boneless tikka masala chicken wings, flavorful as could be and extremely fresh chicken. the pizza itself was so good that they could top your normal pizza chain and just do amazing on standard pepperoni, cheese and so on but they don't. they choose to be original and create + serve uniquely CRAFTED pizza bursting with flavor that i'd consider a true culinary art form yet its completely accessible at any moment within their operating hours. i'm visiting austin only for a week and i wish i could come here every day. the staff here is also extremely friendly, polite and were quick to make our food and kept a smile the whole time and i...
Read moreThe wait time is ridiculous. Ordered shortly before 12p, no one was in line and only 1 other person was in the restaurant. Ordered 2 pizzas and drinks. The food was not ready till about 12:45p. Throughout the time a few people came in for what appeared to be take out orders, and were told a variety of different
times from 20-40 minutes. I inquired on the order around 12:30 and was told 5 more minutes. When someone that came in after us was served before us I asked about it. Our food was ready a few minutes later and I was told they made one of the pizzas in a larger size by mistake and that caused him to not realize the pizza was ready because he was looking for 2 of the same size. One pizza was hot, the other was cold. They obviously were not ready at the same time. By the time our food was ready the place had a line of people waiting to pick up orders and multiple tables without food yet. They seemed to have plenty of staff. Seemed to be more of training issues and/or lack of organization. The people were nice and apologetic. Food was good, but not worth the wait.
The place appears to not be ready to open based on the lack of organization, none of the menu TVs are working, the open sign wasn’t working (they were using a paper sign instead). They keep the front door propped open with a key box still on it.
We were supposed to receive a text when the food was ready, which I forgot about until I received a text at 2p to let me know the food was ready. Hopefully they get everything worked out, but I’m afraid if this continues, they...
