I am very sad to leave this review as my last experience at Takara was disappointing to say the least. Mind you, up until this point, I ordered Takara on a monthly basis (probably more if we're being honest). However, after the terrible customer service I experienced tonight we will not be back. We placed an order to go from Takara today (see the receipt) and we paid in full online prior to arriving. My family orders the exact same items every time we go and one of those items is their beef medallion appetizer and we always add fried rice. On THEIR website ordering portal it says that adding fried rice to this menu item is $3.50 (see attached photos). Again, I've ordered this SAME THING multiple times. So imagine my surprise when I arrived to the restaurant today to pickup my order only to be told by the hostess that I owed $6.00 more for my order to cover the rice. I questioned this because in times past the rice was always $3.50 when added to the beef medallion appetizer. The hostess continued to converse with me over my protest of this price when the manager eventually came over. She tried to explain to me that because the rice was an add on to an appetizer and not a main course that I would be required to pay $6 to cover the rice. Mind you, I already paid $3.50 so they were trying to charge me $9.50 for a side of fried rice! I went out to the car and called my husband to confirm that the order was paid for in full and that the receipt we had covered the rice at the $3.50 price. He confirmed that this was the case and when I went back inside to explain this and that I already paid for the rice at the price listed on the website I was met with major push back. For them to now expect me to pay more for it seems a bit unfair. I would have completely understood if they mentioned to me "Hey going forward this price point isn't correct and it will now be $6 or $9 or whatever it is for the rice". Instead, they continued to argue with me. This resulted in me ultimately saying to keep the rice and now I have 2 very disappointed kids. In my opinion, as someone who has worked in customer service, the appropriate thing in this situation would have been to just give me the rice that I ordered at the price point that I ordered it at /what it was listed at on their website. Especially given the fact that the rice was already prepared in my bag and I know good and well they can't reuse it. So it probably just ended up in the trash ultimately. Instead what their team opted to do was tell me that they're going to call Chow Now and have them correct the price on the website to this new amount and give me my $3.50 back. I felt as a customer invalidated, misled, and treated very poorly. Buyer beware because apparently when you order from this restaurant the prices listed on their website, may OR may not be correct, and you'll then be expected to pay for their inaccuracies. Mind you again, I ordered from here probably 1-2 weeks ago and this $3.50 was the price of this item. In summary, I know in dollar amount perspectives this seems like a very minuscule amount to write a review about. However, if you're a restaurant that prioritizes customer service and your customer's experience and ensuring they leave feeling valued and you then go and treat them this way based off of an error that occurred on your end, then experiences like this warrant a review. Completely...

I use to come here and support this restaurant and have several times this year , as I took my four year old daughter to movie across parking lot before we attempted to support this place again .we Walked inside on Wednesday evening to be treated so horribly rude by hostess and yet told to wait outside as others that came in after us were seated before as I over heard the hostess ask if they had reservations as they said no . And yet I had to mention that we were there before them as she wouldn’t even ask for our names and just stared at us then the next couple walks in and she’s helpful to them .But ask us to wait outside in the cold on a table as several other people are inside waiting in lobby and yet the people who walked in after us were not asked that as she wouldn’t even speak to us until I had to mention that we had been there first . I don’t know what this girls issue was but she clearly had something against me and my four year old daughter . We eat out at very fine dinning throughout austin and I’ve never been treated so poorly and yet from a place we frequent . Called in later to speak with management and or Anthony the owner . Still have yet to hear back and definitely will be the last time I try to support this...

My daughter and I stopped by for lunch after a recent visit to Cedar Park. They were pretty busy and seemed short staffed. We sat for a long time before we were ever greeted. When we finally were greeted, the waitress was nice and stayed on top of everything. The prices were higher than the cost of other comparable restaurants, but the portion size and quality lived up. I didn’t care for the sweet and sour soup, but that might just be a personal choice, I can’t remember ever ordering it before. I normally eat miso, egg drop or wonton. My daughters dish came with miso soup, and I ended up eating it. It was really good. She ordered the two for $12 sushi rolls and enjoyed both of her Philadelphia rolls with imitation crab. I order combination fried rice and was pleasantly surprised at the quality. You could tell that it wasn’t your run of the mill frozen peas and carrots. These were tiny cut up carrots that tasted fresh. I was disappointed that they didn’t have hot mustard or crab puffs, but the portion size was so large that we didn’t end up needing an appetizer to fill us up. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch and would definitely...
