Exceptional Service and Warm Hospitality – A Shoutout to Alex at IHOP
As a regular customer at IHOP, I have had the pleasure of interacting with many team members, but I felt compelled to take the time to highlight someone truly outstanding—Alex. I’ve been visiting this location regularly, and each time I dine in, Alex has gone above and beyond to make every experience memorable, enjoyable, and welcoming. It’s rare to come across someone who not only takes pride in their work but also genuinely cares about each guest’s dining experience.
From the very first visit, Alex stood out with a warm, genuine greeting and a bright smile that made me feel like more than just a customer. Whether the restaurant is quiet or bustling with activity, Alex consistently maintains a calm and professional demeanor. It’s clear they have a strong work ethic and a passion for delivering excellent service.
What I appreciate most about Alex is the attention to detail. My usual order is remembered almost every time I walk in, down to the smallest preferences—whether I like my coffee black or how I prefer my eggs. Alex checks in at just the right times: not too often to be intrusive, but always attentive enough that I never feel like I’m waiting too long for anything. It’s a skill that not many servers master so naturally, and it makes a significant difference in the overall experience.
Alex is also incredibly personable. Even during busy hours, they take a moment to share a kind word or make friendly conversation, all while staying on top of their responsibilities. It’s this balance of friendliness and efficiency that makes Alex such an asset to the IHOP team. They create an inviting environment that turns a simple breakfast or lunch into something much more special.
Another thing that impresses me is how well Alex handles large groups and complicated orders. I’ve seen them manage multiple tables with grace and precision, never once appearing flustered or rushed. Every plate arrives correctly, every drink refilled without asking, and every guest treated with equal care and respect.
It’s employees like Alex who keep customers coming back—not just for the pancakes, but for the people. Good food is important, but excellent service is what transforms a restaurant into a favorite spot, a place you want to return to time and time again. That’s exactly how Alex makes me feel—welcomed, remembered, and valued.
IHOP is lucky to have such a dedicated and outstanding team member. I hope this review can be shared with management and used as a reminder of the incredible work Alex is doing day in and day out. Their consistency, kindness, and commitment to customer satisfaction make all the difference.
I will continue visiting this IHOP, in large part because I know I’ll be taken care of by someone who treats their job with the professionalism and heart that Alex brings every single day. Thank you, Alex, for making each visit a highlight of my week.
Sincerely, [A Regular,...
Read moreI sincerely apologize for this negative review but I must. Please keep in mind I believe this young gentleman was waiting tables alone, potentially with no busy boy. The waiter was very pleasant and this review has nothing to do with him.
After waiting a few minutes (not too long) I was seated. The waiter took my drink order and he promptly went to grab it. It was right then I saw a huge roach crawling on the seat at the empty table to my right, I gasped and a family at a nearby table turned to look at what the commotion was (I have a fear of roaches). The man stated “there’s a huge bug!” And the woman got up, grabbed her chancla and squashed it like a hero. Now I had just left a late doctors appointment and I was heavily sedated for a procedure on my ears, but that did not stop the anxiety that welled up in me. I wanted to leave but I was (quite stupidly so) terrified someone would get upset with me (I am very silly, I know I’m an adult and go as I please but I believe the medicine impacted my judgement). I stuck around and sat anxiously awaiting my food. I ordered the Colorado with spinach and mushrooms (usually my favorite) with the pancakes as the side. As I chowed down every bite made me feel sick to my stomach. I wanted to stop but ultimately forked down a portion of my meal because I am so STUPID and have terrible anxiety. On the way home I had to pull over because I was so sick. I ended up wrenching on the side of the road. So overdramatic and stupid, I know. This wouldn’t have happened if only the primary location I go to was open! They closed at 10 pm because of low staffing. (I like the staff at the one near Lakeline and 183, they are always very pleasant). Still, I tipped my server and left a good portion of my food untouched. I don’t know if I’ll go back to ihop after this, it’s very much tainted my experience. Especially with all the dirty dishes laying around, there had to have been three or four dirty tables. I know this man was working hard, I just wish they’d have closed on account of staffing too. Much better than a negative experience.
Sorry for the lengthy, negative review. I’ve attached pictures, and my hands were shaking when I got a picture of the roach so sorry it’s...
Read moreI’ve placed a total of two to go orders to this location, first was months ago, and then again today. Both times my order was missing an entire meal. Today, I understand is Christmas, so gracefully when my husband came home and we’re missing my entire meal, I understood it’s probably busy and hectic it was simply missed and they didn’t bag it. However, he promptly returned to inform them an entire meal we ordered was missing. It’s been nearly 2 hours! And he’s still waiting for ONE meal that should have already been cooked and ready to go to begin with. There wasn’t even an excuse for the first time it happened as the establishment was empty and it was just me and one other to go order waiting. We waited over 30 minutes past our order ready times that day. Two for two isn’t very good odds. I doubt we will be returning to this location ever again, and definitely don’t recommend it to anyone else. I’ve worked food service before for many years, and I usually give a lot of grace and understanding, but 2 hours is absolutely ridiculous and insane. This would have never been acceptable anywhere I worked before. Just for understanding the order was placed at 5:53pm, it is now 8:25 pm!! Update! Just short of 3 hours (I told my husband to ask for a refund multiple times and to just leave because I was beyond frustrated but he insisted I get my food). Three hours!!! For one simple freaking meal!!!! None of this was worth the money we spent and I’m beyond unhappy as a customer. The moment a customer comes in and says they’re missing a meal they already paid for you IMMEDIATELY replace it. This is absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had from an ihop. Truly utterly insane. Doesn’t even...
