I am not really like to give negative reviews but very disappointed from this place. Reservation is very terrible !! We booked 3-4 day earlier on hibachi table for group of 17 and they said everyone has to be on time and only hold table for 10 mins. Before we arrived we called and told them to add more 3-4 people and confirmed we will be on time. They said we can got whole table but a bit tight which is fine because we had babies and kids. When we arrived they said they confused with numbers because our friends arrived first so they asked how many totally and my friend assumed 15 so they seated the other group of 4 people to our table. If we want to sit together then we have to wait another table that going to check out. I am pretty upset why you asked again when I called to confirmed that we take whole table for our group?? We be on time, why seated other people to our table before seated all of us when we still had 10 mins to hold table? No sorry or any apologize and the lady(manager I guessed) tried to blame on us that made them confused with the numbers, the way she talked was kind rude!!!! I work at few restaurants here in US before, my family had restaurant and I worked over 10 years on customer service industries, this place treated us like street food( even some street food place service better) We waited for almost 15-20 mins to seat new table but had to wait chef around hour to cooked our food. We had 5 kids and they all starving and so late for them. Food was ok. Hibachi was fun and entertaining us but I can’t forgive to reservation service. And service seem super slow, feel like they short of staff!
We did not walk out or complain earlier because it was Friday night, we had big group and kids were hungry. We love Teppanyaki but sorry we won’t...
Read moreFirst time to this restaurant. Did not know what to expect. If you have ever been to a chain Hibachi restaurant, then you know the same old "tricks" the chefs perform while they cook. You know, the volcano made out of the onion, the choo-choo train when the volcano is finished, the beating heart out of the rice, the "Japanese Coca-Cola" (soy sauce). It's the same, boring tricks that hibachi restaurants have been doing for the past 25 years. Not Nagoya!
Though they do perform many of the same tricks, they add a more comedic spin to them and a couple new ones I haven't seen yet. If you're wearing a delicate or easily stainable material, I suggest you politely request to your chef that he leave you out of the act. Also, if you scare easily or have to keep your blood pressure/pulse down for any reason, do yourself a favor and notify the hostess before you're seated.
We were seated within a few minutes from entering. The hostess greeted us immediately, with a smile. She left the podium momentarily and, at separate times, 2 other staff left what they were doing to welcome us and say the hostess will be with us shortly. I was very impressed with the courtesy of the staff.
The server we had was amazing. He checked on our table often and our water never even went half-empty before he topped it off. He was incredibly attentive and very pleasant. Probably the finest server I've ever had at a hibachi restaurant.
Parking is ample, and the restaurant is easy to see from the street. The food is incredible with mid-level pricing. The sushi menu is vast, and the hibachi options are comparable to other chain hibachi restaurants.
We will...
Read moreNagoya Steak and Sushi restaurant was better than our expectations. My wife and I stopped by for their Hibachi grill lunch between noon and 1:00 PM. The overall ambiance of the restaurant is average and nothing to write home about. However, what the placed lacked in the building it made up for with friendly courteous staff who was prompt with service and served delicious food. My wife and I picked this place because the Kobe steakhouse had the same ratings but was more expensive. We both has the Hibachi filet with fried rice, house salad with Ginger dressing and soup. The prices were good for the area. The young man who cooked our food was one of their newer chefs. He was still practicing his utensil tricks, but I really enjoyed his personable and charming personality. This is a trait often lost in the restaurant business. The young chef explained his process while at the restaurant and how much he enjoyed cooking for other people. Instead of simply doing what a chef always does, he specifically asked my wife how we liked our rice and vegetables cooked, not just the steak. He applied past experience to improve the service to his customers. I made a comment to the young lady that I drank a lot of tea. She took the hint and always kept my glass filled. The other waiters also kept the table clean of meal waste and empty dishes. If you live in the area or are passing through I highly recommend giving Nagoya Steak and Sushi a try. It's not frilly but the staff make it a warm and enjoyable...
