Tried Dua Pie in downtown Cedar Rapids today and WOW — the food was amazing and super affordable. My friend got a calzone + a soda for around $20, and I grabbed two slices + a soda for about $15–$16. Such a good price for the quality. Let’s talk about the crust because… perfection. Not dense, not thick, not doughy — just light, airy, and the perfect amount of crunch. It’s not thin crust, but it’s also not a heavy thick crust. It’s that sweet spot in-between. I fully believe pineapple belongs on pizza, and their Hawaiian slice proved my point. So good. I also tried their chicken parmesan stuffed pizza with a side of red sauce and it was a 10/10. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, the crust had this extra crunchy top layer that added amazing texture, and the sauce?? I would literally buy it by the bucket to make pasta at home. Basil-forward, not too sweet — still savory with just a hint of natural sweetness. Only feedback: you do have to pay for parking (it’s downtown, so it is what it is), and the seating is… not comfortable. Very stiff, communal or high-top style, definitely more of a “quick lunch” vibe than a place you’d lounge with a drink. But overall? Totally worth it. The food carries the whole experience. 🍕😌
