One of THE best places to eat in Denver or the surrounding areas. And by far the best Pho in Colorado. We'll even drive down from Denver just to go here. This place keeps expanding as it grows in popularity and we've been going since it opened. Yet, you almost always are welcome right in, given a seat and treated like family. The owner Aaron often is in and comes around to personally check on the tables. Service is also very fast and it is always clean. The menu is pretty extensive (and larger than the menu at their other location). We've ordered takeout before two and it gets out shockingly fast. Standouts include: Rare steak pho - don't worry the hot broth cooks the ultra thin slices of steak before you eat it! It's a soup with rice noodles and your choice of meat. But the broth they use for the pho is KILLER! It has a deep meaty flavor and well spiced, I could drink it on its own. With any pho they will bring out a big plate filled with topping options that you can put into the soup to make it your own. It's one of the best comfort foods. Portions are very generous (I can never finish a small even) Combination noodle bowl - great choice for anyone, but especially if you're a meat eater more than a veggie person. You get shrimp, grilled chicken and pork, and an egg roll (I'm sure I'm forgetting another meat in it) all topped with a tangy sauce that brings it all together. This bowl is also a very generous serving Egg rolls - crispy fried egg rolls served with a plate of sauces and veggies that go together really well Grilled pork banh mi sandwich -a classic Vietnamese sandwich of a baguette filled with smoky grilled meat, and crispy pickled and fresh veggies. Everything in this sandwich goes together beautifully and it's one of the BEST sandwiches I've ever had. Hands down. (And for under $10!) I think this menu item doesn't get the hype it deserves its phenomenal. Boba smoothies - the bobas here are closer to a milkshake than other places I've had them but come in TONS of different flavors. All with sweet chewy little Boba bites on the bottom and whipped cream on top. There's literally a flavor for everyone here. Our favorites include passion fruit, strawberry, taro and avocado (uses fresh avocados and its...
Read moreThis had previously been one of our favorite pho places. After our recent takeout experience, we will not be returning. A short list of the issues:
1 - Shrimp was not cleaned or prepped in any way. They were prettty nasty, covered in shrimp poop and with digestive system still intact. Some had been shelled, others had not. One appeared to have a piece of shell shoved INTO the shrimp. 2 - Vegetables were rotten. As in, covered in slime, not retaining their structure at all level rotten. Bean sprouts were the worst, but since they were on top of the rest of the veggies, even the jalapenos which weren't terrible were covered in the slime-rot. They smelled as bad as they looked. 3 - Random shrimp shells in the normal beef broth. Some larger pieces, but also many tiny pieces that couldn't be filtered out. 4 - Person taking the order over the phone berated my fiancé for asking about the availability of Celiac's precautions. They had the audacity to claim it was fake. (It's a recent diagnosis, so still learning which restaurants are safe and which are not. Uncertain if Pho 95 is actually safe or not). 5 - Upon discussion with these problems with another employee, they offered to deliver replacement bean sprouts only. Upon discovering that we live 20 miles away (this was a special treat for us), they decide not to deliver (fair enough) and instead offer a 30% discount on our inedible food. We NEVER RECEIVED THAT DISCOUNT, as if that were a sufficient response anyways.
We've enjoyed this place many times before, but after declining quality in general and this recent experience, we'd much rather go somewhere else.
For those reading, it's entirely possible that you will have a better experience in person or with take-out. But we no longer feel they can be trusted to provide the food we paid for (especially when they are a pricier option for Pho in the Denver area). Proceed with caution and don't trust the management to be...
Read moreEasily the best pho I have had in the Denver area.
I went with my partner and we ordered a large 15 to share and the grilled pork bahn mi. The bahn me was delicious. Crusty bread but not so much as to gouge the roof of your mouth, very well seasoned pork with a good amount of juices in the sandwich. Could’ve used some more crunchy pickled component, but overall a great bahn mi.
The pho was also great. The steak could’ve been a bit more rare, just a pale pink by the time it got to the table, and the brisket was a little bit over cooked for my liking. The tendon came as slices from a brick which I had not seen before, but was great. Really good broth. The toppings were also plentiful. For the two of us they gave maybe 1.5 cups of bean sprouts, a large, chopped jalapeño, and more than a whole lime's worth of wedges. there were maybe 5 sprigs or basil, and what looked like home grown lettuce that was a bit heartier and had more chew than I expected. Sriracha and crushed chili sauce were available at the table, as well as a sweet brown sauce. I think the brown sauce is usually hoisin or something similar, but this one had a fermented black bean taste to it as well and was much thicker than hoisin. My partner also ordered a Vietnamese coffee with sweetened condensed milk, and they brought the phin filter to the table which I appreciated. Several of the other places I have been just bring you the finished product.
Cute ambiance with some Vietnamese signs and signs making puns with “pho king”. Some TVs were playing sports, and one was playing some Vietnamese culinary show. Friendly staff, and easy to park (if not right in front of the restaurant then there were plenty of spaces a block or so away in the same strip mall). Would definitely go again if I find myself...
