PERFECT DATE NIGHT Aug 22nd 2024 Date Night: Summer French Bistro $99 per seat We learned: -Seared Chicken with Ratatouille -Tomato and Goat Cheese Tart -Grilled Asparagus with Caper Vinaigrette -Raspberry-Lemon Soufflé The chef was very funny and he seemed to be very well experienced with teaching. Very entertaining class. Very intense class, chopping and cooking fast. I learned so much my first time there. The class lasted for 2 hours and we all sat down to eat the delicious food we prepared afterwards. I wish we had more time to learn the entire process of the Raspberry-Lemon Soufflé, some things are prepped for time sake so just be aware. The Tomato and Goat Cheese Tart is DELIGHTFUL! You work with other students in groups of 4, sharing workstations and equipment. Hands-on classes are limited to 12-16 students, depending on location. You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class. Students receive a coupon good for 10% off in-store purchases the day of class Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back. *Room temperature is on the cold side so bring a jacket. ? I believe you can bring your own wine bottle/alcohol to drink if it’s a private event only ? Street parking was easy. Overall a very fun and tasty experience!

This review is for the in person Creative Croissants Class with Chef Anne as well as the team that assisted during class—George and Susan. Susan was very welcoming at check-in and with directing all the participants with where to sit, what to grab and George was very helpful during class; brining additional baking trays, silicone sheets and anything else the participants needed. Chef Anne was extremely informative about different approaches and techniques, she pointed out what to look for when making dough and what factors to consider like the humidity in our kitchens at home—all the little details that make for truly exceptional croissants! Chef Anne readily answered questions and mentioned some history behind the croissants recipes and their regional origins. I have taken at least 3 other cooking classes at a different Sur La Table locations and this class was by far the best. I would only suggest to allot about three hours for this class versus the 2 suggested online.

Our class was fine and the food turned out good. Our chef was friendly and had good stories but didn’t instruct us very well. Many times, we had to ask for basic instruction on next steps or clarification. There was no instruction or advice on plating and that made a difference with so much sauce. The shared station (up to 4) is just a line in the overall description. I think it should be more prominent so people know what they’re buying. Also, I wish SLT would look at this practice. I don’t mind sharing with 1 other but I think sharing a station with 2 or 3 other people, particularly on a fairly easy meal (like our meal was) doesn’t provide the “truly immersive culinary experience” and the chance to “master techniques” that the website promised. Overall, I don’t think it was worth the $90.

Very very disappointed. For a $178 I expect better food and teaching! Deb was the instructor she messed up the dish and still served it to us and didn’t care. We made a shrimp dish and we got 3 whole shrimp with a 1/2 cup of rice to go with it. SOUR SOUR SOURRRRR Pad Thai! I have NEVERRR had sour pad Thai before very sad. I was really looking forward to it. We made corn fritters, she gave no instructions. The first group burned their fritters, she did not let them remake them. Other groups were donating their fritters to the other members so they could try them. She fried the rest of the fritters for us, and they were undercooked!!! She said that she would refry them for us so they would be cooked and she brought them back to us and they were still undercooked! The dessert was a mango sticky rice! We got two small cubed chunks of mango to go with our mango dessert. It felt like they were just trying to make money off of us for the price we paid. We should’ve gotten at least better portions. For the price we paid we should’ve gotten instructor who knew what she was cooking and cared about everybody at least cooking it right if they messed up. The helpers said that they would come around and get some of our cutting utensils out of the way we asked them to come move our dishes for us because they forgot ours! Then it took them probably 15 minutes to actually come over and get ours. The instructors were ignoring us just sitting on the side. Very sad and very disappointed about A cooking class with raw food, Burnt food in some groups, Extremely small portions, No flavor, little instruction, super rushed, and No background history or other information about Thai food. Do not do the fresh in flavor for Thai class!!!!!! They might have other classes, but this was my first...

My husband and I attended the date night cooking class ( a Christmas gift from my husband). It was a sold-out class, and we were very excited to try it! We showed up a little early and walked around the store. The class before us ran a little over, so our class started a little late. We get to our station and think we will cook our meal. We were wrong; it's a group effort, so we're not making sure that people genuinely wash their hands after they are on their phones or touching their hair and then handling our food, etc. We were packed in with too many couples and not enough room to move, making it difficult to cook and get the chef’s attention. You can’t tailor your food at all. I don’t like salt in my food, and I don’t want a lot of butter, etc. The steaks were very rare, and I couldn’t eat my food. There weren’t enough seats for everyone to sit and eat, so some people had to stand and eat. When you pay $200 for a meal, they should have places to sit and should be tailored to what you don’t like...
