Yummy for sure... definitely overpriced (i was surprised we had to pay for sauce and rolls (not made in house)) but we were hungry and it didn't dissapoint. as a whole, everything felt like it was underseasoned (esp meat and slaw) but the sauce was good and complimented everything well. pulled pork was very tender and juicy, brisket had good char and tender texture that held its shape (you could cut it nicely with the plastic butter knife) Mac n cheese was house made, good but not amazing. not typical southern style. it reminded me more of like a hot pasta salad with parmesan sauce (but no acid - definitely not a dressing). Not a baked Mac with breadcrumbs. sauce was very good. house sauce with spicy or sweet options .
they did give me a sample of slawe could taste before buying which was nice. Overall, good but not great. fine. yummy. if you want to go there, I'd say "sure, that place is pretty good" but I probably wouldn't rave about it to all my friends.... maybe the...

I got a take-away order on a weekend, including the 1/2 rack of ribs plate and the pulled pork plate. The BBQ sauces are excellent, especially the spicy sauce. There was not enough meat on the bones for the ribs and I thought they were too dry. Maybe they are better when more freshly cooked. The pulled pork plate had at least 4 times more meat than the 1/2 rack for less money.
In my opinion, there are not enough options for the sides. Needs vegetables that aren't in "salad" form, and I would like to see more "southern style" sides. The cornbread was good, but a little sticky. My biggest concern, as noted above was the quality and quantity of the ribs.
Final comments - the staff didn't seem like they really knew the menu nor were that interested in being there, and 6:30 pm seems awfully early to close, but I will be going back in the future to see if it has improved and to get as much of that spicy sauce as I...
Read moreI commend Rubbin' Butts for holding off and not raising their prices for months. Unfortunately, my most recent trip for take out was very disappointing. I got a half chicken which was not freshly smoked and might have been leftover from the previous week. It was starting to smell rancid, was extremely dry and rubbery. The brisket was probably one third fat, which I don't understand if they hand slice to order, you can see the amount of fat that is being served. A little is expected, but not as much as i received. Disappointing of all was the "nachos", one of my favorites. No shredded cheddar as indicated on their menu,, limited amount of pulled pork and an up charge for extra onions of which there were no extra. I'll bring this to their attention the next time I go since I don't live locally to them. EDIT-I did email the company as requested along with a follow up email, but I've not heard...
