On Saturday August 23rd my wife, her sister, and I visited Coppolillo’s Italian Steakhouse in Crown Point, Indiana.
We had been there once before for a Birthday celebration in December with a large group & had enjoyed ourselves immensely.
Saturday evening’s experience was extraordinary, for a variety of reasons.
The person who guided us through our delightful culinary adventure was named Alexa. She was warm, friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, supremely neat and excellent at what she does.
We had:
A.Delightfully warm bread with Olive oil and cheese. B. Calamari C. Fried Brussels. D. Vesuvio Potatoes E. Caesar Salad F. Trio Filet Medallions with three different and delicious enhancements H. Mashed potatoes G. The Best Lamb Chops I have ever eaten during my 70 years on this planet.
Everything was extremely delicious and prepared absolutely to perfection. The fried Brussels and those Lamb chops were especially noteworthy.
Alexa answered a number of questions, gave valuable insights as to which dishes she enjoyed, told us a little about her 5 year old German Shepherd named Apollo (which I loved to hear because I am Greek), brought us delicious glasses of dark red wine, and cool clear water, kept our table impeccably clean, politely asked how we were enjoying the meal, brought out and stocked vessels for the surplus items, and generally made the evening special and memorable. In just a few words, “Alexa is a PRO and it SHOWS”!
Our compliments to the entire team at Coppolillo’s. Special shoutout to the excellent people who planned and cooked that incredible meal. It was absolutely splendid. We had a wonderful evening thanks to your hard work, excellent cuisine, unrivaled hospitality, and amazing attention to detail.

Read moreThis place was mediocre at best. the food was basic and average, there is definitely room for improvement. starting with appetizers, my table ordered calamari which was very chewy, baked clams which had more breading than clam meat, and sausage & peppers which tasted the best of the 3 and yet they were still mediocre. thankfully, they removed the baked clams from the bill after we complained. the entrees again were mediocre and not memorable. our wait staff person seems unamused and annoyed to have to wait on our table. she did not introduce herself and seemed to be in a rush whenever she stopped by. she did not take our entree order until after we finished appetizers, which left us waiting a very long time (more than 30 min) for our entrees to come to the table. honestly, by that point, we were over it. She seemed friendly and smiled when she visited ta les around us. However, she looked like she had better things to do when she came to our table. We informed the staff it was a family member birthday as they asked if it were a special occasion. they didn't offer any desert or even a warm wish, so we were confused by them asking if there was no point in that information. the place was decorated nice. However, I feel the big screen tv should only be at the bar and not the dining room as this place is not listed as a bar and grill. The drinks were very good. Overall, I will say our experience of this place was underwhelming. Some people seemed to enjoy their time there, so maybe we just was on the receiving end of poor service. I will not be going back, nor would I recommend it, but you should make the decision...
Read moreCame here to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Saturday, and I am VERY disappointed. Our table was extremely small, and it was also incredibly wobbly. Cutting out steaks sent our water splashing out of the glasses and onto the tablecloth. It was very loud in there and not the atmosphere I was anticipating for the price of the food ($150 for 2 iced teas, two steaks, and 2 sides). Our romantic dinner also resulted in food poisoning and calling off work for us both today, which was the main reason I felt compelled to leave this review to warn others. The service was slow. The table next to us was seated as we placed our entree order. Said table received their appetizer and their entrees before we received our order. Wait staff shattered glass all around our table and did a poor job cleaning it up, thankfully I wasn’t wearing open toed shoes. we ordered steaks, vesuvio potatoes, and cheesy garlic bread. The steak was bland and the potatoes were cold when they arrived to our table. The only thing that was actually good was the garlic bread. Spent $150 to have poor service and food, and end up with food poisoning. Our waitress was kind, that’s about the only positive thing I have to say about the experience as a whole aside from the garlic bread being the only thing I would ever eat again from here. Needless to say, I wish we hadn’t spent our hard earned money here and we won’t...
