I went to Fiji Sushi 30 minutes after they had opened on a Thursday. The parking was easy and there was no line as it seems the lunch rush starts around 12:00.
I was promptly greeted and sat. I then ordered a variety off their menu to get a really good feel for their quality as I'm looking for a favorite place to frequent.
The drinks were cold, and environment was pleasing as I waited for everything to be delivered to my table. The wait took a little while then I was served everything at once appetizers and entries minus a hand roll that came at the very end of my meal almost like a dessert.
First, I know the location is far from the coast, but the fish was of good quality. Could be more fresh but that all comes down to logistics and it was totally fine. Unfortunately the rice was hard, clumpy, and would fall apart before you could even get it from the plate to your mouth. I had to ditch the chopsticks and eat with my fingers. The quality of Sushi rice and the preparation of it is very important, and since it is all controlled in house this was a very bad sign. The rolls came out smaller than I have ever seen before as well, which did not match the price point I've seen in competitors.
In the end, I paid $60 before tipping and ended up driving next door right after leaving Fuji to grab a burger because I was still hungry. I've never done this before in my life and I'm of normal weight.
I wouldn't recommend Fiji Sushi to my friends or family, but also I wouldn't say anything negative about them other than the rice quality. As for the portions vs price, it's your money spend it however you like.
2/5 starts....
Read moreAfter scouring Utah for a decent sushi place this one actually tastes fairly authentic. The rules are fairly priced being on the cheaper side but they are quite a bit smaller than what you would expect. Unfortunately, if you choose to dine in your experience will be mostly consumed with waiting around for the simplest of dishes to come. The service is terrible we waited an hour and 20 minutes (being the only ones in the entire restaurant) for a chirashi don which is practically just rice with raw fish on it and requires zero prep work. When our food finally came they forgot 50% of our order. Then after trying to flag down a waitress for another 20 minutes we finally had to get up and go talk to them at the front desk in order to notify them that we did not have half of our order. The chefs were so focused on getting the to-go orders out that they completely forgot to serve those who sat in their restaurant. Highly doubt we will ever do dine in at this restaurant again. Which is incredibly unfortunate because their roles actually taste really good. The boots are separated by walls so the social distancing is not a...

The staff is so friendly and willing to do what they can to make our experience great!! They are reasonably priced too! This last trip we wanted to "splurge" and our total came out as $70 for 3 people who had a feast! 2023: We moved away and came here just for Fuji! We missed this place so much! This time was just as amazing as our last trip, 3 years ago. They have updated their inside and their menu but it was still all pleasing and delicious! I ordered the chicken and salmon teriyaki, philly and hot green tea and my husband ordered the chicken teriyaki with a coke. Our waitress was on top of my husband's drink(which is a must for him) and quick with the food! My husband was pleased with the chicken! He told me that before it was good but kind of felt rubbery(probably from a quick cook) and he felt this time that it tasted exactly like chicken and the consistency was perfect. My meal was incredible! I definitely ate way too much but it was date night and we had fun talking and being...
